No i wanted to try and arrange an interview nearer the interview date so I marked on the checklist that I will book the medical once i get the letter notifying me of the interview.
I just have a problem that I get panick attacks and have kinda become agrophobic and just thinking about going on the train on my own and then the tubes on my own is really freaking me out so much that I am feeling ill right now. I have brother and his wife living in london I could have gone to their place and my sister in law would have taken me on the tubes but i talked to her the other day and my brother isnt very happy about the whole situation of me moving to america to be with a white american guy so i kinda got the feeling they didnt want to help me:( She said that my brother said if i am willing to move to another country then I should be able to go to the medical and interview by myself - which I kinda agree with but in America I will have the man I love with me and the support from him and his mum where as here I have no support from any family member:( OHH I am so upset:(

Well, that sucks. I'm sorry to hear that he's not supportive.
You could take a klonapin first then take the train to wherever. Get in a cab, it's less frightening. And def. worth the extra money for you. Just give him the addy & off you go!

Lina & Devillette - we all sent our packet 3's back at the same time to London - so should all get our interviews around the same time too, hopefully.
I have my medical next Wednesday (Aug 30th) at Knightsbridge.
If we end up getting the same interview date, then we should definatley hold hands / share tranquilizers.

I know what you mean Im gonna call the medical centre on tuesday (its monday bank holiday here) and see if this is possible and how much of a wait I have before I can get a medical date. I still have my house to sell so I will be waiting around a month or so after I get the visa to complete:) I told my estate agents I dont want to sign anything till I get my visa in hand.

I actually wanted to be in ohio by November but it may not happen - my david wanted a Halloween wedding lol
I also have a house for sale and its been on the market a month and half - I just spoke tot he estate agents and he said he has 3 ppl interested now he is trying to get the best offer - I did remind him I cant sign anything till I actually get the visa in hand!! so we are lookign at roughly another month. I know what you mean Im gonna call the medical centre on tuesday (its monday bank holiday here) and see if this is possible and how much of a wait I have before I can get a medical date. I still have my house to sell so I will be waiting around a month or so after I get the visa to complete:) I told my estate agents I dont want to sign anything till I get my visa in hand.

Sell the house with a "limited tenancy agreement" (have no idea what it's really called). ie: your house is sold, but you still live in it until the visa arrives. I'm planning on talking to Sian about this later today.

I found cab fare in London to be really not all that bad given the convenience of it. We took a cab 3 different times - once from Victoria to the Paddington area, 8 quid - again from our Paddington Hotel to the embassy, 9 quid - and then from Hyde Park to Victoria, 7 quid.
Buses were only 1.20. They run all about and it's easy enough to take those as well.

Umm so cab fares arent that expensive I might do that but I think I have managed to get 2 friends of mine to come with me so 1 will come to the medical and the other to the interview plus 2 days out in London lol not that I have the money to go shopping or anything:( maybe we can go into Harrods and buy 1 stick of candy LOL

But the best part was observing a proper white-haired British matron replete in thick spectacles, felt hat, high neck white blouse with neck broach, wool skirt and sensible black shoes puffing away endlessly on fat cigarettes, reading what appeared to be the sports page, and discussing with the waitress how you can't get good matches these days!
Oxford Street was in walking distance. We did the Original Open-Top bus tour which we highly recommend - 16 quid last fall and good for 24 hours.
I think a couple of days in London with friends would be brilliant! Wish I could join you!
