Congrats Missy!!!! Could you all also keep us in your thoughts the next few days? I am leaving Wednesday to go join my FI in London for his interview then spend the week meeting his family before we come home together (hopefully). I am sooo excited and nervous all at the same time....I think I would go crazy if I went in any sooner than the day before for the interview....24 hours will be a hard enough wait.

Don't worry Richi- I also sent mine standard mail- and they obviously received it!!

Good luck to everyone having their interviews this week!! I'm taking an 8 am flight out of Newark on Friday...... my husband and I both realized last night on the phone how nervous we both are for Monday (those damn travel visa denials!) and how glad we are to be able to go together!! I take a lot of hope and strength from everyone else being approved. We leave on Monday night for beautiful Lancashire and hope it's a celebratory train ride!!

EEK! I've got my interview tomorrow morning and I'm starting to get nervous. I've gone over all my docs and I'm pretty sure that everything's OK but there's this little niggling doubt that there'll be some teeny tiny thing missing or done wrongly which will screw things up!

Feeling a bit tearful right now thinking about how important tomorrow is to John and me and what a huge deal this all is to everyone on this forum. All we want to do is be with the people we love. It does seem that most people get approved, but I'm scared now that after this long journey, when we've almost got to the end, something will happen to mess it all up.

Very happy for everyone who's been approved recently and good luck to everyone else who's having their interview this week. And I hope Techgirl hears from the Embassy very soon with her interview date!

Getting nervous about our interview next week..

I'm looking at the list of interviews.....could anyone inform me on why cmltdg,jpkeswim,Mary&Tom, and TrueloveFL are Pending? Why didn't they approved, if anyone remembers?

As for the pendings, I dont' know for sure but I do think some may be people who have to file waivers (ie previous overstays or a criminal record).

James has his medical set for Feb 6th so you can add that onto our name...and hopefully packet three will be sent off by Thurs but I'll let you know!

cmltdg, jpkeswim, Mary&Tom: All pending I-601 waivers, taking anywhere from 4-12 weeks to process in London.

Trueloveinflorida: Was not given a visa pending additional evidence; we never did find out why the CO requested the evidence or if he was ever issued the visa. We keep him up on the list in hopes that someday we'll find out what happened.

Congratulations on all the approvals today!!! That is AWESOME!! You must all feel amazing!

Also approved today for immigrant CR1 (DCF). Would have been a great experience except the medical results hadn't made it over from the doctors at the time of the interview so I was a little down and concerned (medical was a week ago to the day). I got out of the interview and called the doctors and had them chase things until they confirmed the Embassy had them. Then I actually went back into the Embassy after lunch and confirmed with my interview officer that it was all ok now! Phew!

I've been told the visa is coming between 6 and 8am tomorrow morning (I paid for the courier upgrade) so here's hoping!!!

Tomorrow it will be two months since they received our waiver forms and letters. We were told at the time that it was taking two months. I certainly hope they call this week. I am scheduled to fly back to the states on Tuesday and I don't think I can do that now. I can change my return flight at a cost of $200. I may do it.... but I don't know how long to extend. If they approve the waiver then Tom wants to get to the states as quickly as possible. This has dragged on so long.... we are both exhausted at times. The longer we wait, the more we become dissatisfied with our hardship letters.... too much time to overthink things. I wish we had talked more about our relationship and how desperately we need to just be together living our lives... without all this stress of being in limbo.

I haven't been participating in the forum much lately because its rather disheartening to be at a standstill with no assurrance of a positive outcome.

I am grateful for this time that we have had together. We needed it and it has only reinforced what we already knew.. that we will spend the rest of our lives together... somehow. I just can't bear to think about a possible denial... it would be devastating.

First things first...Mary, I wish you the best of luck. Your story sounds entirely unjust in every possible way. It's just not right for him to have to pay twice for something he was never guilty of in the first place, especially when it involves separation from the people he loves. I'll be thinking of you and hoping that maybe tomorrow something will arrive in the mail for you.


To all the other recent approvals...congratualtions to everyone...it certainly does look ever so nice to see a nice long list of RED approvals!!!


And hey, Rich, I just had to laugh when I read one of your posts as my fiance Andrew said he was doing the very same thing while waiting at the Embassy...just sitting there quietly playing his PSP. Too bad you guys weren't there on the same day...you could have swapped games! I must admit that if anything is to get between us in terms of marital distress it is more likely than not going to be because of that stupid PSP

Just hang in there. Please keep in mind that the Holidays and the New Year where everyone was on mental or physical Holiday, really seemed to have put the embassy at a standstill. If you even look at when people submit their Packet 3s and then when they are getting their interview dates you can see a marked delay than there was even just two months ago.

Second guessing what you wrote will not do much more now but make you worry. You know that no matter what you WILL spend the rest of your lives together no matter where it is, so please try to relax, I know this is easier said than done. But I am sure the love you have with Tom that is pouring out on these boards, poured out in your appeal no matter how you wrote it, so have faith in that. It WILL all work out I promise you that.

Weebeansy, I actually broke up with my last boyfriend because he was so addicted to his PS2 and computer games that I swear he wanted to just jump in the screen and live in that world! But he never would have went through all this visa hell that your man went through. And if he went through with that to be with you, then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Besides those things are really easy to "accidentally" step on and break

Congratulations!

Our interview is on Friday so I'm checking over all the paperwork. I didn't keep a copy of the checklist from the embassy but this is what we will be taking:

Passport
police certificate
birth certificate (long form)
I-134 plus supporting documents, tax returns etc

visa interview appointment letter
receipt from paying for the visa at Barclays
3 US-style passport photos

medical results in sealed envelope

NOA1
NOA2

Plus one copy of all the above, except medical results.

Plus additonal evidence of relationship: photos, emails, engagement ring receipt etc.


How is that looking? Can anyone think of something we are missing?

Also, we must remember our beer tokens so we can (hopefully) go and celebrate when we get out of the embassy

Just in case, do you have a letter from both of you affirming your continued support of the K1 visa process and intention to marry within 90 days? I thought I read somewhere you need one, but please correct me, somebody, if I'm wrong.

My interview is next Monday. I'd love if anyone could give me any idea of how much evidence of continued relationship I need to take - I could seriously fill a small caravan. How does three emails, birthday/xmas cards from my fiancee and her family, engagement ring receipts, some USPS mailing forms from stuff she's sent here, and three phone bills from the last eight months sound?

Oh, and is there any need to take the whole 'evidence' packet we prepared when we sent the original I-129F? Or are they only interested in evidence since we started the K1 process?

Again, thanks for any advice, and thanks to all the VJ-ers who have been posting their interview experiences on here. It such a help to read so many GOOD THINGS about something that, right now, seems only a little less frightening than a dentist with a guide dog.

(No offence to any blind dentists out there.)

You only need the letter of intent if on the date of interview your NOA2 has expired. IF that is the case then you MUST have a new letter of intent from your USC fiance(e) and it MUST be notarized. Otherwise I have never heard of them asking for it.

I don't know anyone who was asked to show proof of continuing evidence. If you want to be safe just bring a few things, but they have all of that information in your 129F submission which they will also have in front of them when they interview you.

It all depends on how much extra stuff you want to bring. We didn't need 9/10 of what we brought.

I know everyone asks this but please take pity on me! I want to make sure I have everything for the financial aspect- as I am bringing it all with me to the UK and leave very early Friday morning (1 am) to make my 8 am flight. Anyway this is what i have: notarized I-134, letter from my job with starting date, salary, and permanent position stated on letterhead, two recent wage statements (I've only had two paychecks so far- new job!), 3 months worth of bank statements showing I have $1000 in bank, last year's tax return showing last year I made above the 125% poverty level. Also: notarized I- 134 from my stepfather (co-sponsor), letter from his job stating salary, length of time in position, and permanent job on letterhead and bank statement (not on bank letterhead- they printed it out of the computer at the bank, stamped it, and signed it) showing he has had a regular balance over $15,000 for the past year. I have tried to state specifics so those of you in the know (ie. approvals) can tell me if it seems okay. As we are staying here til we move into our house next month, I realize we need to show between my stepfather and I that we can support 5 people at 125% of the poverty level (5 people being stepfather, mother, me, daughter, and husband). We triple that plus some with just our salaries. I thought the banking stuff would just show extra income. My stepfather also receives a police retirement pension that adds significantly to his salary- do we need that or the fact that we already exceed the minimum amount make it a non-issue? Do I need to show paperwork proving they own this home? Starting to panic now!! Thanks guys.

As long as you both exceed the poverty level for the five of you JUST with your two salaries, and have letters from your employers confirming that you both currently make these salaries, then you are good to go.

If you decide to keep your stepfather as a co-sponsor for AOS you may want to add his pension income and property onto those affadavits. The proof for that should just be a standard deed or tax return depending on what that is. For now you seem fine. Most times they do not ask for any backup except the bank letter and the employer letter. They take you at your word.

Cheers for that- it was what I was thinking, but just wanted someone to ease my mind. I actually just got a call a couple of hours ago offering me a position making nearly twice what I'm making now- so I won't need a co-sponsor for the AOS. We'll have our own home, I'll make enough to cover the three of us, and hopefully by then he'll be sorted with work as well anyway. If we are successful on Monday- dare I hope that things will start to come together finally......
