Hello everyone,

I will be unable to show income for 2005 or 2006 because I was a missionary in Hungary for those two years. Along with that when I came home in the year of 2007 and did not make above the poverty line for that year. Do they still want to see my tax returns?

Also, I plan on providing a letter of explanation as to why I had no income for 2005 or 2006, are there any other suggestions?

Thank you

Yes, you still need to show them your tax return for 2007 and you will also need a co-sponsor since you did not make enough income.

I currently make just barely above the poverty line and I have assets.

I have been unable to get a Co-sponsor.

You should know that some Embassys use the poverty level as their minimum income quidelines, other use 125% as a minimum. Assets typically are not the sole consideration for an approval, there must be a consistent income level sufficient to prove that your fiance will not become publically financially dependent.

Good luck.

True, I am just above the 125% poverty level. I hope it will work because there is nothing else I can do.
