im about to file the removal of my conditional status in june...i just noticed my philippine passport is abt to expire on august 2008....do i need to renew it for the removal of my conditional status???

There is no relationship between the removal of your conditional status with your passport. The only time you need your passport is when your one year extension is up and you need the INS to stamp your passport. They will not stamp an expired passport so yes, you might need to renew it eventually. But for the submission of your I-751, you do not need it.
