This is a question for anyone going through Ciudad Juarez.

For the DS-230, is a police certificate required? My husband obtained one but I am using James' shortcuts and I would not like to send anything they do no need. Although I do plan to have him take it to the actual interview.

If you are going through CDJ, did you send it?

Yes it is. Please check the DOS web site and pull up Ciudad Juarez to see the list of Civil Documents you need to send along with the DS-230.

Diana:
I followed the link (thanks) and for Mexico they are not required. Here is the link further into the website after you choose CDJ and Mexico:

You do not need the police certificate per the website. good.gif

Sorry I missed this post. Mexico does not have such thing as a police certificate at the federal level, and USCIS is indeed aware of that. Some people CHOOSE to send in local police certificates (God only knows why); but you don't have to. Glad you found the reciprocity link.

Me too! I definitely do not want to send them anything I don't have to. I dread confusing them in any way. And anyway, the police certificate my husband got is blank because there is nothing on his record.
