My fiance wasn't able to get our new case number on NVC when he called last week. According to the person he spoke with they already forwarded our application here in Manila. How come they don't know our new case number then? I asked him to call them again today... hope he'll get it. What is the best time to call the NVC? And is it true that we'll no longer gonna receive packet 3 and 4 from the embassy? How are we gonna know when is our interview if we don't know our new case number? Our lawyer told us that all we can do right now is to wait for the letter from the NVC and for the packets from Manila Embassy to arrive. Information from him (lawyer) and from this site is not the same, so I am confuse. unsure.gif and I saw that some November filers like us already got their interview sched... please advise guys thank you very much!

Ahh, lawyers wacko.gif .. I am sure glad we found this site before we filed.

With whom did he spoke with? I hope not with the lawyer coz I doubt if he spoke with people from NVC, they will not tell you they sent your papers to Manila without them not knowing or giving you your case number.... NVC can even give you your case number even days before they forward it to embassy.

Your lawyer said to wait for letter from NVC and packets from Manila... well, you could wait for letter from NVC or you could call NVC again and again and again till they give you your MNL case number. As for the packet from USEM, you could be waiting forever and it will not arrive. We just called and set up interview sched April 1 and we were told that USEM won't sent packets anymore. The appointment letter for USEM interview will be the confirmation email you will recieve when you call to set up appointment schedule. It will also be the letter that you should show for your SLEC medical. The rest of the infamous packet 4 should be downloaded from USEM site. I started a thread about this here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=119778

BTW, you might want to get in touch with RyaNRiza, they could give you more info on processing time between CSC to NVC to USEM because your timeline is about the same and they already have their case number and they also filed @ CSC.

I wish you all the best. God bless you always. rose.gif

I received the hard copy letter yesterday. If you call NVC they will give the case number and tell the exact day that they forwarded it to the embassy. I'd suggest calling again. Also your Fiance should get around to preparing his Affidavit of Support packet. I just sent mine to Riza yesterday using DHL. I figured if it was good enough for the Embassy, it's good enough for me, plus it wound up being cheaper than Fed-ex or UPS. I didn't even contemplate USPS because the last time I paid for priority mail from them, Riza received her packages in 6 weeks.

The NVC phone number is 603-334-0700 choose option 5 to speak to an operator, they will ask for the beneficiary's name and birthday and the applicant's phone number. There's not any great time to call them, just keep trying until you get someone.

The case number starting with MNL that NVC assigned when they received the case from USCIS won't change. You should be able to look up your case number on the Manila embassy web site and see if an appointment date is set yet.

I would have him call again. I called a few days after our visa was approved and the NVC had it. Then I called 3 days after that and the NVC said they mailed it to Manila. I waited a week and called the Embassy and got a pin number and scheduled my fiancee's interview. The person on the phone at the Embassy then asked for my fiancee's email address and emailed her with the interview date I set and case number.

So do you mean u have to press key # 5 in order to talk to an operator? Cuz my fiance calls them from time to time and always end up talking to an automated voice machine and tells us our papers haven't received yet.
Jimmy and Angela
if you are on K-1 you HAVE to speak to a live person. the automated system is for CR1 / IR1 only.
push 5 to talk to a live person
good luck
RyaNRiza
that's right, the automated system is not for those of us on the K visa path.

Good morning,

Thank you so much for the reply I have talked to my fiance yesterday and yes he got our new case number (YEHEY) over the phone from the NVC. And told him that he has to set up our interview by calling 1-888-877-7878. According to the NVC they forwarded our application last Tuesday (April 1) so when do you think is the best time to call them? I need to download all the DS forms online, is it ok to fill up the forms offline (handwritten that is)? I will ask alot of questions later whistling.gif smile.gif God bless to all of us.

Good morning,

Yeah my fiance already got our new case number over the phone biggrin.gif but no letter still from the NVC. What is the importance of the NVC letter? Are we gonna need it in the future, jus like the NOA2?

My fiance is coming with me in my interview, can he just take all the documents with him or he really need to send it to me now via DHL/FedEx/UPS?

Thank you for the reply.

Follow tips here so you could track your papers from NVC to USEM via DHL online tracking:http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=115441# . then your fiance could call USEM for interview appointment a day or 2 after USEM receives your case. Best time to call would be 8am-6pm philippine time monday to friday, except holidays.

If he is going with you, he can bring all the documents himself.
