Ok, so I've settled on something similar to this:

My Wedding Cake

Only difference is instead of the tartan scarf, I'm doing bands of tartan around each layer...in the McMillan tartan of course good.gif

But looking around I also found some absolutely ridiculous wedding cakes that I thought would get a chuckle out of everyone:

Utterly Ridiculous

Glow in the Dark

Beer Foam Cake

Geek Wedding Cake

Shoot Em' Up

I love the shooter one!! I can't say it would be my personal choice but it is pretty cool biggrin.gif

Yeah I can't really wrap it around my head who would want a James Bond-esque cake, but well to each their own!

That 'glow in the dark' one is someone playing (badly) with Photoshop. Same for the beer foam one, you can clearly see the paintbrush strokes.
Amby
the glow in the dark one hurts my eyes. jesus!

I like your tartan cake idea!

I love the tartan cake, too!

Now here's a cool cake:

Discworld Cake!

We didn't have a wedding cake. We had a wedding red lobster buscuit instead!

The tartan one is beautiful! Looks yummy too smile.gif

The people who made our wedding cake also made these ones:
Sand castle
very bright!
Gorillas!

This is ours, it was incredible smile.gif

Wow! I love the tartan wedding cake idea...I'll have to show that to Nathan. All the gents will be wearing black watch tartan for our wedding, and I'm planning on having dark blue bridesmaid dresses to coordinate with that.

Discworld Cake!

I sent a pic of this cake to my fiance' saying I found a wedding cake he would like. He replied it was a bloody fantastic cake.
He loves the Discworld books. He got to meet with Terry Pratchett in person and talked one on one with him for a long time and took pictures with him. Thanks for the cake link.

The turtle cake is amazingly ridiculous. I hope it is as delicious as it is cool looking!

This was our cake! smile.gif I designed the graphic myself and used it for both the cake and the invitations.

Just for fun... us cutting the cake dressed as pirates!

LOL! Stu and I were just talking about our wedding cake the other day and looking around for some ideas.
The ones in this thread so far are really awesome (I love the Discworld one!)!

These are some of the ones we found:
Corpse Bride Cake
Anime cake

We haven't decided on anything officially yet, but we're both totally anime/gaming nerds, so the idea of a really nice cake with our favorite anime couple on top like the Bleach one in the second link appeals to us.

It'd be so easy to acquire anime figurines to put on top of any cake you wanted, too. smile.gif

It came out even better in person as well....and was quite tasty. I'm still dissapointed we had to leave a huge chunk of it at the reception place.
