Hi Folks,
This is a great site with valuable information. My fiance (who loves in Colombia) lives with a single mother (who is in her 70s) and she takes care of her. What is the most efficient and seamless way to bring her mother to the US permanently after we are married using a K1 Visa. The mother currently has a Tourist Visa and has married daughters in the US. We want her to attend the wedding in the US using the Tourist Visa but are scared that if she is applying for permanent residency here in the US there will be complications using the tourist Visa while waiting for residency. Thanks for your help.

The only way her mother can come here is for either one of her daughters to become a US citizen and petition her. Your fiancée can do this herself but it can take about 3+ years for her to become a US citizen, plus another 1+ year for her mother to get permanent residency.
If one of her other daughters is already a citizen and chooses to petition the mother, she can still use her tourist visa to come visit while her permanent visa is being processed. She just needs to make sure she tells the POE Immigration officer that she plans to go back to Colombia until her visa is approved.
I'm afraid those are the only choices you have.
