I talk to them maybe once a month. My sis-in-law- told me she wants me to call her on my own and more often--but although I don't mind talking to them--its still very weird and akward at times and would rather talk to them when hubby talks to them--once a month is fine by me! They're really great people--I just don't enjoy talking on the phone. cool.gif

For my in-laws that are here in the USA I talk with them at least once a week. For those out of the country, it is approximately twice a month.

I honestly wish I could speak Turkish so to be able to speak with my mother-in-law, I only learned very little and some basic words, but not enough to carry on a real conversation sad.gif

Funny thing is that we both get along great and I had spent many times alone with her (while hubby was at work) whenever I visited her in Turkey and the only way we communicated was by showing of hands and pointing to things blush.gif

I speak with mine, 2+ times a month. Funny thing mines wants me to call on my own as well, but I haven't at this point, because I'm very busy and I'm home when we are calling. Most of the time I stay on the phone longer than my husband and he is just enjoying that I'm talking with his family. Sometimes repeating myself several times biggrin.gif. They say Americans talk with an Accent and we talk through our nose... whistling.gif

Once or twice a month I call on my own or they call me. It is still a little awkward for me as well.

Not as often as I should... blush.gif
Hardly ever with my MIL, simply because there is no phone service in her village. Yet, and still we make it a point to mail her a couple of letters per month, just to touch basis.

My mother in law is pretty goos at phoning me... like 2 or 3 times a week...
Like I do not have a all lot of times some times i have to ignore her call...
Then if i ignore the call she left a message like you never pick up your phone...
She likes to talk on the phone a all lot and i do not always have all the times in my hands...
I talk with one of my sister in law once a week as we are really closed.
As my husband family do not live for from us we got to see them a all lot to... at weekend to.

My husband has not been able to get a hold of his brother in over a year. We talked a little by e-mail before that, but not since then. His mother and uncle don't speak any english (or write/read), so I pretty much never communicate with them. I have talked a few times on the phone with mom over the last 2 years, but she spoke Igbo, and I spoke English. It was just nice to hear each other's voices. My husband only speaks to them once a month or so. He speaks to his friends and people who are looking out for them more often (once very week or two) and I often say a few hi's to them. I really wish my inlaws spoke English or that I spoke more Igbo (more than 3-5 words) so that I could talk to them. Oh, well. Maybe someday.

How's everyone?

I talk with my in-laws a few times a month. Mom and Dad dont speak but a few words in english so we dont talk much but its nice to just hear them.

I mentioned to my hubby to try and teach more engish to them and I know i will in time learn their language.
