I get depressed sometimes too, but my goal is to stay positive. When I'm depressed, I call Luis and cry to him on the phone LOL. Usually, the conversation ends in us laughing about something funny like the time I couldn't remember how to say broccoli in Spanish and was like trying to explain to the waiter that they are like little green trees but they're vegetables (this whole explanation) and he said, "oh, broccoli?" and I felt like a jackass. My Spanish skills are more like Spanglish skills being brought up in the US and PR and all. Or like the time we went on the bus and when the bus stopped the guy was yelling "baja, baja, baja" (get off, get off, get off) and I thought he was yelling at me to get off the bus so I yelled back at him, but apparently he was just telling the driver that people were getting off and not to drive away. He was saying "they're getting off, they're getting off" and actually in either case it's "baja, baja" Whoops. I almost got into a fight in Peru with a bus driver LOL.

Our first petition package was sent in April and got returned a whole month later. So we ended up loosing those 30 days. Otherwise, D. and I would be as anxious as you guys are at the moment

Susita, your stories cracked me up You gonna have many more funny moments once Luis gets to the ol' good US of A I guess I'll share my own experience as a dummy foreigner to illustrate
I got my first car back in July of 2007 and Dave had a lot of fun with terrified me (I could barely drive) following him home from the dealer. As time passed I got better with driving and he stopped calling me everytime I went places just to make sure that both me and my ride were fine.
A month later Dave's B-day was approaching and I went out to get his present. As I got back to the parking lot after the shopping trip, I saw my car with a huge dent on the passanger side and chips of paint and brokent light glass on the ground that indicated somebody JUST hit my baby car I worked for a whole year to buy! Paniced I run to the security booth and nice lady proceeded to help me. First of all she looked at the security cameras screen and managed to zoom the picture to show the dented side. A little rewinding showed how somebody was backing out into my ride!!! We called the police and she proceeded to fill out the form. Since I just got my tags, I couldn't give her a number and went back to the car to pick up my insurance and other docs. On the way I called Dave (who happend to be swaped at work) and cried like a baby. Anyway, so I get to the car, stick my key into the lock and it's not working. Only then I notice weird bags on the backseat and realize.... that it is not my car. Same year and make, same color, but mine is three spots down the row as fine as I bought it! I felt like such an idiot. When I called Dave to explain the mishap, he wouldn't believe me. Well, to make it feel better, I still tell mysefl that at least I did somebody a favor by calling the cops on whoever hit their car

I'm sure we all have funny stories because of different stuff in different countries. For instance, when Gareth was here he'd always go to the wrong side of the car, thinking the driver's side was the passenger's. After he did this a few times he started to remember where he was and do it correctly so just to mess with him I'd go to the passenger's side so he'd go to the driver's automatically. It was great and we both got some good laughs out of it. Also, we had a lot of huh's and what's because of my southern accent and his Liverpool accent -- especially when he talked to my sister or mom...it was great! He got used to the southern drawl quickly though.

Ana.. what a story about your car! That is too funny! I think it's awesome you helped out the person who did get hit! My car was hit really bad once and the person took off. It cost me a fortune to fix even with insurance and it wasn't even my fault. 
I am a firm believer that what goes around comes around.
Stephanie, when I was living in Australia/NZ with Russell I ALWAYS walked to the wrong side of the car!

Tomorrow will be the first day of July... I am with you all in hoping and wishing and praying that this week and the whole month of July will bring forth showers of NOA2.

just wanted to update anyone and everyone who wants to hear lol this is megan. just home from my 15 week appointment everything went good. got to hear the heart beat today which was amazing! only wish graham was there with me! i think thats why we've both been down a bit more lately. haven't gained an ounce yet, but i'm sure there is plenty of time left for that to catch up lol. next appointment is the 28th of july, and another ultrasound on the 31st (i'll be roughly 20-21 weeks then)!!! can't wait to see the little one again!

This wait IS very hard, but soon enough it will be over. And if you think about it, it will be a small amount of time in comparison with the amount of time we are going to spend with our husbands/wives. The thing that keeps me going is knowing that being depressed brings bad karma & if I remain optimistic, I think things will come easier, and disappointments will be easier to deal with. My approval estimated time is the middle of July, so I'm not going to be depressed, I'm going to enjoy the 4th of July with my family knowing that the next 4th of July Luis will be here to share it with us.

Mi baby just left Lima today morning.. we had a very lovely time together the past five days.. and yesterday that we celebrated my b-day. He came to see me on my b-day!!!!! I love him with my whole heart and now I am crying and smiling.. Im very sad
I dont want him to leave.. i was so depressed today. I know its very hard to all of us not being with our loved ones.. just wanted to say hello here , Ab and I , we;re april filers too. His b-day is on Sept 30.. do u think there is a possibility that we can be together again before that day??? Good luck guyz wanna cryyyy!!!! baby I miss you sooooo muchhhh...

Megan ~ I loved going for sonograms when I was pregnant with my kids, it was cool. Now they have the 3D sonograms OMG they even give you a movie that you can watch on the computer, soooo high tech. Hope you're feeling OK and not puking your brains out, lol. I know I was.

I know how you feel. Last time I came back from US after visiting my fiance I stayed in bed and cryed for 2 days. I think I can give myself 2 days. But after that is getting up and back to your life, trying to enjoy family, friends and everything else you´ll miss about your country. I know it´s hard now and all I could think was who cares about the beach, I just want to stay with him, wherever! But it´ll get better. And soon enough I know I´ll be crying about missing Brazil! (Can´t wait for that to happen!)

I know the feeling!! I cried on and off for about a week after Gareth left! I still tear up every now and then when I'm really missing him. I cry myself to sleep some nights. Even Gareth admitted to crying on the plane when he left. And every once and a while he'd be telling me how depressed he was because he wasn't here and I could hear that he was crying...he didn't admit it though.
I miss him sooo much and I hope he can come for a visit for my birthday! Maybe we'll be approved while he's here and can celebrate together! I try to think about things like that so as to not be upset with the long wait. Congrats on the approval!!

Good morning April, how is everyone today? I've only checked email, uscis and vj timelines once so far so I guess i'm doing ok.
Talked to a real person today, and my have got a possible expedite on my case. For the past 1.5 months I have been trying to get an answer if they would move my petition back to the original receipt date of when they lost the original.
I finally found the menu extension that took the request, and they will make a decision with in 5 days.
It felt really good to have something to be active with.

I really do hope something happens for you and they are able to get it finished with considering it was thier fault.
Another approval from March 31st!!!! slowly but surely were getting there April!!!

They are certainly on there way! I have noticed all of our touches have stopped, seems they stop and then suddenly you get a touch followed by an approval, hopefully we will all see touches again soon!

Fernanda - Yes I did meet him at Carnaval! I loved everything about Bahia! He spoke a good amount of English at the time and I spoke no Portuguese at all and he helped me buy a drink with no ice hehe and the rest is history so they say

NOA2 it´s so close for all of us but now I´m worrying about my waiver! I´d have started trying to get it earlier, but lovely US Embassy in Recife said there was no need, they marked my passport wrong. Well, the Department of State seems to think differently in my Advisory Opinion... Anyway... I sent the paperwork for the waiver, the check was cashed and the No objection letter sent by the Brazilian Embassy, and I know that for sure cause I got my copy already, but no updates online when I check my waiver case number... When I call Public Inquiries I hold forever and then get hanged up on (not happy about paying long distance for that).
Anyone has a clue what might be going on? Could they have lost my application after cashing the check???? After what I´ve been through and seen on this website I wouldn´t doubt it!! Aiinnn so worried and anxious and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!
