A84 filers, 56 (67%) with NOA2 and 28 waiting. Off to work now guys so I'll check later when I get back. Work, argh!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I knew where our numbers were off. I have 83 filers, 52 approved, 31 waiting. Can't figure out the 4 extra approved. Oh well, we're still getting through March which is good news for April.

I'm going by the immigration timelines link at the top of the page. Then narrowing it down to Vermont Service Center then sorting by NOA1 date and manually going through everyone's page and timeline as not everyone has been putting in NOA2 date but has gone on to put consulate/packet 3 received dates.

Kim - It was just induction today but working 9am - 3pm tomorrow. Start working properly tomorrow. It's only paying Ģ5.62 an hour and the train is Ģ11 a day but something is something I guess and it's helping to pass the time.

Early night for me tonight guys. Keep your chin up, first April approval is coming soon.
GrahamandMegan
Another March approval added to Igor's list last night everyone.

84 filers, 57 (68%) with NOA2 and 27 waiting.

Hi ho, hi ho it's off to work I go!!!!!!!

Hmmm...and that's what I do. Is your NOA 1 search range 2008-02-29 to 20008-04-01?

Thanks for keeping everybody posted. Looking for fireworks here when the first April gets the nod.

Hey guys!

Just wondering, what is the VSC's hours? Mon-Fri 8-5? Or do they work Sat as well? Or are they all workaholics where they work on this stuff 24-7...doubt it but hey. Just wondering. smile.gif

Hi Doreen, welcome to the April thread. We sent/received same day but our NOA1 is dated the 23rd. They supposedly go by date received so hopefully we'll be looking at the same approval time as well! Good luck to you.

Stephanie, I don't know what the hours of the vermont office are but I do know that many adjuticators work nights and weekends and some even take petitions home to work on.

Wow, very hot here in MA this weekend. We're just home from the firefighter's memorial (all the men in my family are/were firefighter's) so all our family, friends, (even our state reps and senator's wink.gif) were there. Everyone asking about when Russell's coming home. Frustrating to have to always answer "I don't know". I sure hope we do see an April approval this week!

We are CSC so I think it will be slow. I don't think April Filers are going to start seeing NOA2s until the end of July. But I am hopeful that the speed will pick-up.

Suzy, we are feeling that heat up here in Massachusetts right now too! Tomorrow is suppose to near 100!

I got my pool cover off but have a broken line so I must get that fixed today so it can be ready... for the 60's to come back! laughing.gif

So it's a new week April people! Brian tells us there will be an approval for one of us this week... let the games begin!

I just feel extra positive this week, that somebody is in for a nice surprise. But I really should charge at least $2.95 a post for my psychic predictions. So everybody who is approved this week has to send money to my paypal account. star_smile.gif

I know how you feel (as I'm sure everyone here does). It's even worse at the moment for me because Gareth's Skype phone is in the shop being fixed, so I haven't talked to him for about 5 days now! At least he's been able to text me every once and a while from a friend's phone to tell me he loves me and misses me...but it's just not as good as hearing his voice! Man I can't wait for July to get here so I can see him again.

And that brings me to a question...Gareth is coming for about a 4 week visit mid-July and early August. IF all things keep going as they seem to be going...our approval should happen around that time...which I hope he is here when it's approved so we can celebrate together! But my question is, it will take a few weeks for them to send him the packet right? So he should be able to finish his vacation here and not have to cut it short to go home to do paper work? And hopefully the next time he comes, it will be a permanent visit!! smile.gif

Thanks!

Kim is our resident fact guru, but I believe that the NOA2 is good for four months. So time should not really be an issue, even if you ask for a later appointment.

Brian
smchadwick
Thanks! Yeah I found the K1 flowchart thing, and it shouldn't be a problem because once it is approved, they have to forward it to the NVC then send it to London, then they'll send him the packet. In all probably about 3-4 weeks...so he will be back in plenty of time. smile.gif

Seriously, it would be neat if you were first since it would alleviate some of the stress for you and your SO. I just want my approval by mid July. Now if my SO were on this website, I would be in for a verbal tongue lashing. headbonk.gif

So I hear it's getting awfully touchy over here! tongue.gif You girls must be in the box of one of the newly trained, scan happy adjuticator's! I hope he/she moves quickly for you!

Stephanie, I hope you are approved before Garreth's visit mid-July! Your estimations with London seem right on. It seems about a month from NOA2 to receiving packet 3. Email is the best way to communicate with that Embassy and if you have a solid wedding date you probably want to mention that as 'sometimes' those who have a date get pushed through quicker. wink.gif

Brian..u so silly tongue.gif

Well Monday has come and gone and we have yet to crown our first April VSC VJer. I suppose that's ok with March filers still waiting but I wish they would speed things up. I can feel myself getting more anxious for it now that I know it's not so far off.

KimandRuss
Good morning happy Apriler's!

Well today marks 8 weeks to the day that we sent off our petition and honestly we were hoping to see our approval by now. I try to remind myself what a small percentage of filers we are and tell myself that there were probably hundreds of people approved this week, just not vj'ers but when the timelines here are all you really have to go by, it can be quite disconcerting to see so few approvals. It's a good thing my glass is half full! wink.gif

Perspective is the word of the day! We are in this because there is something so magical waiting on the other side of it and when that day comes... every single moment of this torture will be worth it!

Have a great Tuesday April filers!
brian87
Tuesday Morning Snapshot:

March VJ K-1 filers: 76
NOA2 Approvals: 55

That makes for a 72% completion rate, with the average number of days being 54.

Of course our average number of days will be higher. Some of us are at 60 days or approaching 60 days shortly. But at least the NOA2's are still leaving the train station. star_smile.gif

Stay Positive April,

Brian

Hello dear April filers! I surely like that touchy pattern going on. So hope it's a sign that your time has come!

Dear Kim, thanks so much for your positive posts. Reading you really helps to see that positive outlook is the best course of action during this wait!

I was just wondering if anybody had to deal with the same thing I'm facing right now. Friends of my Ukr. family all talk to me like I'm some kind of failure and as if its mine and Dave's fault that I can't simply get up, pack my suitcase and fly to the States. I mean I already have this distance to deal with and than all those people around me are acting as if I live in my own sad little fantasy world! I mean did anybody encounter that or is it stupid Ukrainian culture thing, when people are happy when those around them are misarable? Sorry if I'm out of place with my post, just am having a really bad day crying.gif

Cheer up little camper. star_smile.gif

I also face the same thing to some degree. It seems like several people that my SO knows in Mexico are experts on immigration. Several people have tried to convince her that something is wrong, because EVERYONE knows that she is allowed to come to the United States right away and get married and stay forever. wacko.gif

And the people she works with are the worst. Several people have commented that it should not take this long and we are only taking about 60 days so far. I chalk it up to jealousy.

Thankfully, her and her family respect my opinion more. I have explained to her that every situation is different. And that without the facts of each situation, it is difficult to make comparisons.

Because indeed, there are some situations that can be expedited. And other circumstances that would lend themselves to both of us being in the U.S. during the entire process. However, ours is not one of them.

Dwell on the positive. You have found your soul mate. Does it really matter what others think? Does it really matter whether the process takes two months or six months? I am looking forward to a lifetime with my SO.

Stay Positive,

Brian
KimandRuss
Ana, so sorry you're having to face that. Especially from people who are supposed to be supporting you!

Our famlies and friends are very supportive of us but I find that many people are simply ignorant to the process, especially when they know of others who have simply flown to the U.S., married and adjusted status that way...or even worse, are here illegally. Even the most educated professionals I know are amazed at the process and time it's taken to get Russell back home to us.

Brian, I can't imagine having a fiance from Mexico and waiting through this process when so many mexicans are already here illegally! It can't be fun trying to explain the process to them. I'd point those folks to www.immigrate2us.net and let them read over the 601 waiver forum!

In the end, we know what we're doing and we know why we're doing it. And when we're sitting at the appointment waiting to adjust status we will not have to worry about being denied, facing bans or proving there was no intent. wink.gif If there was an easier way to make sure our SO could stay here legally dont they think we'd be doing it? I say the hell with the naysayers... kill em with kindness (and sarcasm wink.gif ) and tell them you really appreciate their support and will look into it... and always with a smile. That'll shut em up! wink.gif

Brian, thanks for the kind words!

I mean, I'm fine with the process, why others have to stick their noses into my business? And act as if it's my fault USCIS has those policies. Stupid mentality. I know it is my own culture and so on, but I can't stand it any more smile.gif. After 4 or so years lived in the States I'm a reformed person! smile.gif. Ana, my Olenka has only told her immediate family. She didn't even tell her friends. I think she may not be extending the information to others for the same reason you mention. I explained to her the whole process and she understands it. I'm sure her co-workers would give her crap about it too.

I think Brian's comments are dead on relating to this also good.gif

Kim: Wish I could put your words into those haters/advisers ears smile.gif. And I can't agree more on the issue of illegal immigration. I went home just because I did not want to deal with all the consecuences of AOS from non-immigrant visa. The funny thing is that right before I left the States I saw an immigration lawyer and he told me to just go ahead and marry to stay in the country. Thank goodness the little I knew of immigration law helped me understand that he was just scamming me as a potential client with lots of problems and therefore lots of potential fees smile.gif.

desenchantee: Thanks for cheering me up smile.gif. Well, I wasn't planning to tell anybody, but you just can't stop my Dad smile.gif. I finally got over it now. It's just the culture. As nice and hospitable Ukrainians are, there are still many people out there who dwell on "neighbor's" misery. I just have to learn to ignore those comments.

Guys, just wanted to thank everybody again. I had a really low day today and you all were so great and helped me get through it! You truly are the friendliest forum!!! smile.gif

Ana I have to admit I donīt know Ukranian culture, but I donīt think thatīs it... Itīs not only ukranians, but humans in general... For some reason lots of people feel better about their lifes when they see someone whoīs miserable, itīs stupid, but itīs just how it is.

And really NOBODY here understand the process here... Not even my family quite gets it... Not even me!! Hahahahaha!! People just think that I should get married already and all my immigration problems would be solved, because thatīs what they hear. Anyway, the way I see it, the long, long, long process helps making a lot of people decide to stay illegal, and the illegal people help the process have to be longer and so on... and the ones who decide to do things the right way have to pay for it... Not fair, but just how it is!
***
I agree with you guys- My fiance is from Brasil, too. and his family asks.. why dont you two just get married?
They think he just hops on the plane the next day! hahahah I wish
If only they knew the K3 takes even longer- I swear they dont believe us!

One of his aunts even asked (recently).. Are you SURE you are moving? Are you SURE she is going to marry you? OMG.. like we need to hear this.. It is hard enough waiting!!!!

The only people I have told are my very closest friends and a couple of friends from school who are not
from the United States. I feel like they are the only ones capable of understanding.

At least we have each other on this website!

Somehow, there has been more CSC approvals in the past few days compared to VSC but CSC is still working on January filers and a little of February filers who have waited looooong time already for the NOA2, it is just about time CSC finished them all up... VSC may have slowed down a little but it is finishing March filers and I am positive it will pick up soon and start working on April filers.

I have a very strong feeling that it will be raining approvals on this thread before the month ends.

Welcome to the waiting room Kornyhiv!!!!!!

Been busy with work so not had a chance to get on. Been having a play with the timeline search function on here and to get everyone in for a complete month you have to search from the last day of the previous month to the first day of the following month. So if you are looking for all the information for February you would search from 01/31/2008 - 03/01/2008. Because it searches for the days after the earliest one and the days before the latest one. That's how I've worked it out anyway.

April - 61 filers, 1 with NOA2 (1%) and 60 waiting.

March - 88 filers, 58 with NOA2 (66%) and 32 waiting.

February - 99 filers, 89 with NOA2 (90%), 4 RFEs pending and 6 waiting.

January - 83 filers, 82 with NOA2 (99%) and 1 waiting.

December - 64 filers, 61 with NOA2 (95%) , 1 RFE pending and 2 waiting.

November - 26 filers, 24 with NOA2 (92%) and 2 waiting.

Take care everyone smile.gif
