How did you and Dave meet in Florida? Was it spring break? On a beach ?? heh

Nah, not the beach smile.gif I was there on an internship program and we met during corporate event, since he used to work for my company. Got to talking, next thing you know he is on a plane to Ukraine, a month after I left the States smile.gif.

What brought you to Ukraine?
GrahamandMegan
Now 40 people from March with NOA1 have NOA2, 51%!!!! The glass is officially half full now!!!!!!! He he dancin5hr.gif

I know the feeling of putting your life on hold... I´m graduating college and wanted to start graduate school, but that´ll have to wait til next year. I´ve said no to good jobs because they didn´t pay good, only had a chance of growing, but I´m not gonna be here for the growing part, what I really need is money, so I got a job I don´t like and has no future but pays better... I don´t feel like going out or doing anything at all, I´m just waiting... Talking though the computer isn´t too exciting either. He´ll miss my graduation and valentine´s day in Brazil (June 12th, I´ll be SO depressed) I´m missing his family reunion and birthday. I´m 23 and still haven´t learned how to be patient I want everything for yesterday! I feel like I´m waiting to start my life!

I wish people from VCS would read all this, right?

OMG, Fernanda, we have so much in common. I'm going through exact same things as you are right now! I graduated college, did my US internship and planned to go home for graduate school and decent job. Instead I met the most wonderful man, fell in love and now have to be patient and wait, wait, wait and be happy with my two part-time jobs, which are nothing exciting but do pay well so I can save smth up. You know what will be real overkill, if u tell me that your future husband resides in Florida, cause if VCS hurrys up and allows me into the country I'll be moving to Orlando smile.gif. All I can say, we have to learn and be patient. As hard as it is. I just stay focused on the happy future we ought to have. And do my best to include him in all major happenings in my life even if it is through telephone/internet. Both him and his family try to keep me posted as much as they can too.

Both VCS and CCS need to read this and understand how much power over people emotions and feelings and happily-ever-afters they have!

Are you serious, I´m moving to Orlando too! hhahahahahahahha!!!

What brought you to Ukraine?

Without going into details.....it has to do with American women and time being wasted LOL
I decided to try an agency in Lviv. They are the nicest and most professional folks I've ever dealt with. 2 trips and great experiences each time!
susita83
Ana & Fernanda ~ I'm the US citizen, but I understand you when you say you had to settle for a job that pays well but has no future.

I'm trying to bring my fiancé here from Perú, I was a full-time college student and I'm getting certified to teach Spanish, but I had to find a full-time job so that I can make enough money to be able to do the affidavit of support. That means I have to study less and work more, that makes me sad in a way because my goal was to finish school ASAP and start what I really love, teaching.

The good thing is that my fiancé loves to work and should have no problem getting a job at all here (there is a large hispanic population where I live and many, many jobs especially in what he specializes in, masonry work and construction), so later on I should have some help from him! That way I can finish up quicker. He's also planning to go to community college too.

It's all worth it. In the end we will be so happy. No regrets! star_smile.gif

laughing.gif graham. Is it not ridiculous the parties those kids have???? ohmy.gif I will admit that I spoil my kids more than most but ummm yeah, I don't care if you've got money or not, that's just crazy to spend that kind of dough on a party for a 16 y/o ...especially one who obviously just 'expects' it. Gotta question those parenting skills! I mean, what happens when those kids don't grow up to be trophy wives or god for bid...ever have to get a job and work for their $$$??? laughing.gif

Well it was nice to see something coming from Vermont last night and, as much as i'd love to see April approvals, it was good to see that they are catching up on those 'left behind'. It just seems fair and just. Now lets get on with the rest of us!

No idea where Brian is. Maybe he's just taking a mental health break from the wait ...although that really doesn't sound like Brian. I do hope he checks in soon just to let us know he's ok.

I know there are a lot of other April filers out there 'browsing' ( I see your names viewing the thread when i'm here! laughing.gif ) Please come join the conversation even if you don't think you have anything to add. It helps everyone to know we're not alone.

Have a great start to your weekend folks! Here's hoping the new month brings us all much joy! wink.gif

I've watched Super Sweet 16 a few times and I really want to shoot all of those little brats!!! How did your one go?

Welcome to the party HighwayStar!!!!

Oh and another March filer was done this week, so make that 41 have NOA2 now (52%)!!!!!!

NO WAY smile.gif This is just too funny laughing.gif So, how do you like Mickeytown??? smile.gif
GrahamandMegan
And there is 86 NOA2 for February filers now too, 87%!!!!
GrahamandMegan
OK, so after looking through all the people who do not have NOA2 from filing in Fbruary I went through the timeline and checked out their respective profiles to see if I could get a more accurate representation of the numbers. We have 4 people with RFEs pending, 1 person who has been approved but never updated their timeline and 1 unavailable profile. So the actual number of filers wth NOA2 from February for definite is 87 out of 99, 88%.

And there are two people who haven't been seen on the forum in nearly a month, don't want to count them towards anything though as don't want to misrepresent the numbers more.

I'll go through March later on and see if I can find anything there either.

Every little helps I guess!!!

I love it, cause I love Disney. It´s not too far from the beach, which makes me happy. At home I see the beach from my bedroom window, I´m so used to it! I heard Orlando is one of the most violent cities in the US, but I think that depends on where you are... not being mean about Brazil, but I´m used to violent cities. there´s people from all over and I find that fantastic! I´m excited but scared, having no job and no friends there!
How do you feel about leaving your country?
HighwayStar
How do I feel? I can't wait... I've been trying to get away from Italy for years, but when I had the opportunity I was lured back here, only to rue the day I ever gave my country a second chance. Too long to explain here, and I'm aware that many people would disagree with me. Unfortunately, good food, art and a good climate can't compensate for things such as being stuck in a dead-end job without any chance of getting another, or having to deal with far too many bad memories, related to both my personal and professional life.

As I wrote in another thread, I have practically no family here (my parents are dead, and I'm estranged from my brother), almost no friends, and no hope of seeing things get better. I am aware that no place in the world is perfect, but I'm quite willing to give the US a shot, and do my best to make my home there. Michael and I talked long and hard about that in the two years since we met, and we came to the conclusion that the best thing for us was for me to move to the US, where I would have many more chances to rebuild my life. I know I will miss my hometown of Rome, but I think this will be just about the only thing.
Ana&D
To Fernanda:

Yay!! Another Disney fan!!! I adore the place!! My hubby-to-be does not really enjoy me dragging him there, but, hey, sometimes he has no choice smile.gif. Have you been to Food&Wine at Epcot yet??? That is my absolutely favorite Disney event smile.gif. As to Orlando been a violent city, to be honest I never noticed that. I've lived there for quite a bit now (just came back from 19 month internship) and had no problems. People are really friendly too and you will have no problems meeting new friends! And if you need any help preparing for the move or have questions as to were certain things are in O-town, feel free to message me anytime!

To HigwayStar:

Just hang in there girl, all I can say. And than you can always come back and visit Rome smile.gif. I neverg thought living in Italy can be that rough, since there are so many Ukrainians just dying to move there and be stuck in a dead-end job cleaning somebodys house or looking after older people. But I guess those things should be viewed in connection with ones cultural backgrounds, what might seem like great opportunity to former USSR citizens, might be really devastating to you Italians.

Susita, thanks for providing feedback "from the other side". I just wish we all got un-hung really soon smile.gif. And you are right, it's the happy future together what metters in the long run, but having so much patience is taking a toll on me smile.gif.

By the way, is Spanish really hard to learn? I'll be moving to Orlando, and in my previous stays there I noticed that a lot of people speak it in everyday life, so I am thinking about learning it just for fun smile.gif.

OK guy sorry for boring you with all the numbers but I'm trying to keep myself positive.

GrahamandMegan
No worries William Wallace, I'll come over to your thread shortly and give you the total of people with NOA1s in May and keep it up to date for you guys!!

OK so I've gone right back to the Processing Times from the USCIS website and covered all the months from that (November 17th).......

November = 26 Filers; 24 with NOA2 (92%), 1 with no accessible profile and 1 who hasn't been online since 7th November.

December = 62 Filers; 59 with NOA2 (95%), 1 with RFE pending, 1 waiting on NOA2 and 1 who hasn't been online since 3rd February.

January = 81 filers; 80 with NOA2 (99%) and 1 who hasn't been online since 23rd January.

February = 99 filers; 87 with NOA2 (88%), 5 with RFE pending, 2 waiting on NOA2 and 5 who haven't been online since May.

March = 79 filers; 44 with NOA2 (56%), 2 RFE pending and 33 waiting on NOA2.

April = 55 filers; 1 with NOA2 (2%) and 54 waiting.

Hope that helps anyone who is waiting as it makes me feel a little bit better if I'm being honest.
GrahamandMegan
Oh so instead of being at position 91 like we are on Igor's list, I worked it out that we are actually at 64!!!

Fingers crossed everyone and I'm sure I'll be abck next week for all your numbers needs!!!

Just wanted to say Hi to everyone! I'm new to Visa Journey and I filed my I129-F in April so I thought this board would be a good one to introduce myself on! From what it looks like in some people's signatures VSC goes fairly quickly! Not gonna get my hopes up though!! Trying to be patient!

I was wondering if they have certain areas in the VSC for the different countries? I know they do it in order received, but just wondering if they also might have certain people working on certain countries.

Good luck to all April filers!!

Stephanie

Ana ~ I don't know how hard it is to learn Spanish, I have heard it ever since I was little (some of my family speaks it) but I know that learning any language is difficult if you don't immerse yourself in it. In Orlando you should have plenty of opportunities to practice though! I can help you too if you want, I love tutoring!!!

Graham ~ Thank YOU!!! I love when you tell us all the stats, it's awesome. It's so great to hear that things are a -movin' So glad you are staying in the forum!

Stephanie ~ Welcome to our forum! It's a lot of fun talking to all of these guys, they're awesome. I'm meeting a lot of friends in here who are going thru the same thing as I am and that helps a lot. We're all here for each other.

Kim ~ How did the sweet 16 go? Can't wait to hear about it!

~ Suzy ~

Good Monday morning April filers and HAPPY JUNE!!! This has to be our month!!!

Graham.. you crack me up! We are such similar creatures! I used to do the same thing until I realized I was working on that more than the work I actually get paid to do! laughing.gif How much happier you seem having left that place and coming to work for us... on stats! wink.gif I'm still quite curious about these two touches in a row after so much time. Too bad not everybody tracks their touches. Hopefully i'll get time to set that info up and get it out to you today so you can access my server.

Stephanie, welcome to the April waiting room. It's good to have you. No, there do not distribute petitions based on the beneficiary's country. Here is a thread posted by a former aduticator that explains the process.

Thanks for asking about Angela's sweet 16... it was a madhouse! laughing.gif Must have been 60 kids here at one point and many didn't leave until close to 1am...when I made them. wink.gif I had some friends here as well to help me keep watch over things. About 10 of her closest friends spent the night and we all spent a good part of yesterday returning the bouncy...cleaning the yard and putting everything back where it goes. A lot of work and it was good fun for her but i'm SOOOO glad it's over!!!

Now that we're in June we are getting so excited for that next step! NZ is a fast consulate to go through so after the noa2 it will only be a matter of a few short weeks until Russell is back home where he belongs! He will fly home the very day he has his visa in hand. I know we only filed in April and that it could very likely be a few more weeks until our approval but we've been waiting so many years to get to this point and now that we're so close it's hard to contain the excitement! I wonder if that will make the wait feel longer now. Chatting last night, we were reflecting back on when he was denied entry last September and the tragic phone call and realization that it could be up to a year before he was back home again (they were waiting much longer then due to the influx). He had already 'moved' here over a year earlier so all of his belongings are here. I took his things from the closet and put them in storage but the rest of his things are still out collecting dust...just waiting for him to come home. It's almost time to get all his clothes back in the closet and prepare for him to be back...and for good this time! What a feeling!!!

We saw quite a bit of movement from VSC on Friday and i've read that they are through the H1b visa selection so perhaps we'll be back to the many approvals per day soon. We can hope for that anyway! wink.gif

Have a great day April buddies!
Fernanda O.
June!! this will be the month!

How to I put in my touches on my timeline?
KimandRuss
There is no place to track 'touches' on your VJ timeline but if you click on 'My Assistant' at the top and then on 'Edit Forums Signature' you can add your timeline to your posts as well. wink.gif

The bi question is , Kim, did you have cake!? , I love cake I have to have it every birthday! and most celebrations!

I cant believe this is June already, It's a strange month, because it was always the month we knew things would start happening for us & the people who filed around us, this time Last Year I was getting ready to spend my entire summer break from college in the States! feels like so long ago now!

GrahamandMegan
Welcome back Brian, long time no see!!!!!

I'm so glad to be home with my parents I must admit, although Megan has the doctor's today at 4.30pm so I'm waiting to hear from her after she's been there.

Glad you had fun with your sweet 16 Kim, I'm pretty sure it would be pretty intense but a lot of fun at the same time.

I'm looking forward to this month, things should start changing for the better. Megan and I have already talked about her coming over for the interview and medical and then travelling home together. I hope that she isn't too far along by the time all that is organised!! I know what you mean about all the stuff of Russell's being in your house too. Pretty much all my belongings are in the USA with Megan as we're pretty confident that all this will be approved and we can get back to living our life as it should, well with the exception of having someone else to worry about now too!!!!

Good luck fellow April filers!!!!
HighwayStar
I don't know about you, but I've felt deeply saddened by those two threads in the Spousal Visa sections that bore the subtitle "K1s kicked to the curb". I never realised there was a war going on between 'merely' engaged couples and 'real' married ones... This is supposed to be a support site, where we all come to give each other encouragement, as well as finding extremely useful information. What I have seen today amounts to what in Italy we call a 'war between poor people', one that has no point at all and no one is likely to win. I've seen very hard words exchanged, and I wonder how some people manage not to get banned altogether... Celebrating other people's misfortunes is one of the most disgusting things I can think of, but it seems so common nowadays.

BTW; thank you, April filers, for being so nice! I wish you all the very best!
INCT
I'm glad I am not the only one very very eager to receive an update on my K-1 that I filed in April. I am going down to Chile again on Thursday to visit my fiance and would have loved to give him an update but it looks like it won't be until I get back that I will hear anything.. sad.gif I was getting optimistic with previous petitions and the quick turn around but now it looks like the process has definitely slowed down. If only USCIS knew I checked their web page everyday, I can't help it!!! I hope they approve our petitions soon!
BexandAlan
Those threads have been closed because they were upsetting and offensive. I think it might be best to let that topic die. It was a small minority of the site that got involved and I don't think everyone shares those feelings. I don't see how starting a civil war on this site is going to make an ounce of difference to what happens at VSC. I was really upset about some of the things that was said today but I don't think regurgitating it all will make any of us feel any better.

Brian - Nice to see you back. Hope your well. Welcome Stephanie, this is a pretty awesome group of people (second only to the march filers.) Kim lovely I'm glad the party went ok, I remember getting very drunk on my 16th and regretting it big time. I think I would have rather had my mum and her friends looking over me.

This is going to be a good week April filers, GOOD VIBES!

love you lots xxx

Our files must be RIGHT next to each other, because I also got a touch today. Didn't think it would be THAT big a deal, but I giggled like a schoolgirl on speed. Yay for progress!

HighwayStar, don't let a few negative people affect you... for 1 negative person, there is always 10 good person on this site and that makes this site still the best place to find support and encouragement even in matters not related to visa. good.gif

GrahamandMegan, there are still 4 active january VSC filers who have not recieved NOA2 yet cray5ol.gif , 3 of them had RFE and one is an extra difficult case. It is really sad and I hope and pray that in your group there won't be any stranglers.

Kim, happy happy birthday to your daughter. kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif .. I can't beleive you already have 16year old.. You look so young to have one. star_smile.gif

Gaye, bless your dear heart! I had her when I was 12! rofl.gif JK, of course, that's what my mother tells people when they're shocked she has a 38 y/o! Must be good genes! Thank you.

So, yeah, it looks like my touch theory was correct. Interesting. I'm so curious I'm going to have to ask an adjuticator I know from Boston to see if she knows anyone in Vermont she can ask.

Well 7 weeks today that we sent those papers off. Flew by, didn't it? Let's hope the next few do as well!

Have a super Tuesday April filers! Stay strong...and be happy... we're almost there!

How are you guys seeing touches? If you're signed up for the email notification do they email you with touches or do you just see them on the USCIS website under your case status? I don't think mine has been touched yet and I know sometimes they may not even record the fact that yours was touched...but I just wanna know where to be looking just in case they don't email you.

Thanks!

I, because I am an impatient sap, log into the USCIS website about once a day and look at the "Last Updated" date. If there's no change in the status, but the Last Update date has changed, that's a touch (or so I'm made to understand; there are people here better at this whole thing than me).

And, like Susita, another touch for me today, as well.

I wonder if our guys are going to bump into each other on POE? smile.gif

Thanks!
Stephanie

Sorry I have so many questions! LOL! Where exactly is the last updated date? I supposed if I don't see one then I haven't had an update yet. If so, then where will it be?

Thanks again!

You should be seeing this:

Last update's right in the middle, somewhat. The date listed is what we're looking at as far as touches.

And the last time mine was touched was the 6th of May. Thanks for the help though guys!! I know where to look now and will be logging into USCIS every day lol even though it will probably make the time seem like it's going by a lot slower!

Happy Tuesday April filers!!!!!!

How is everyone doing today?!?!?! I'm doing well, just watching the Penguins beating the Red Wings in the Stanley Cup. 3-2 in the series now, Let's Go Pens!!!!

dbears - I am going by NOA1 date on VJ timelines and not by the date they sent it in. Much easier to work it out this way that going by the date they sent it to VSC.

Good luck guys!!!!!

My last touch was on April 22... I wonder if someone is keeping our file on their desk, or if the box where it was has just been moved, and is gathering dust somewhere else. I know touches don't really mean a lot, but I'm getting just a little bit anxious. Well, there's nothing to be done about it but wait.. It's only been two months so far, and many people have been waiting much longer after all.
