Sorry for not having dropped in sooner, but I've been very busy taking care of various things. Just read about your being put in AP, Kim... That sucks big time, after all you've been waiting already ! Really hope they're going to send your file to NZ as soon as possible.
As to me, yesterday I contacted the Naples Consulate, and immediately received an AutoReply informing me I'd get a reply in two weeks' time, since they were flooded with visa applications! Luckily I'll have some time to wait for that birth cert, so the news didn't faze me at all. After waiting a grand total of six months for our petition to be approved, these are peanuts...
Raffaela ~ We're still waiting on Luis' birth certificate too. A few more weeks and it will be corrected, so we're in no rush to schedule the interview either. I want everything to be in order beforehand.
Kim ~ What exactly is AP and why are you guys in it? Is it like a crime investigation unit? Is Russ really an international spy or something cool like that? Just trying to cheer you up I know it must be "wicked" hard to wait through that. But really, what is AP?

Hi Suzy,
I've been doing a ton of research on AP and can clue you into what little I know, compared to others. AP stands for Administrative Processing and it's a catch all for name checks, document verification, security clearances, etc etc. It's seen a lot in MENA nations for male beneficiaries - it's seen with a lot of common Muslim names. I believe there is also a lot of document verification specifically in the Phillipines too. And, sometimes it can happen in Central or South Amercia beneficiaries due to name hits. There is no set time line or protocol. If you look in the AP/waiver forum you'll see some people who have been waiting for months after their interviews to get the final ok for a visa. But, it's my understanding, that cases can be picked at any point for AP. The only thing you can do is wait it out. There are something like 6-8 security checks to go through like MANTIS and CONDOR for the name checks...
AP is not a happy thing in the least...

hahahaa don't say that Graham lol we're not lazy!
At first, I thought we were lazy too until I met a friend from Spain who takes a big break in the middle of the day every day (siesta) while he's working. AND here's the cool thing. If there is a holiday on a tues or wednesday, you immediately get off on monday - tuesday. If it's on a thursday, you immediately get off from work on fri. Isn't that awesome?
I wish I lived in Spain.
Good luck at your interview! Be sure to let us know how it went, details details details!!!! And tell Megan we all say hi

Workers on most european countries that are what we call lazy because they work a lot less hours than we do in Brazil are more productive and spend less time playing patience, more time actually working. Can't wait for Brazil to get there!!

Good morning April. Wow, I had to search for us... either we're slacking..or moving forward.
Speaking of moving forward... we're still stuck at the NVC! My cups still half full (brian ) ...but i'm about to throw it across the room!
Luckily, i've been extremely busy with work...too busy really, but it certainly does help pass the time.
Kids are back at school today. It's good to have a little peace. We certainly thought he'd be home by now. Hopefully we'll have good news by the end of the week.
I hope you are all doing well and moving right along. Graham...i'll be sending you good vibes for Thursday. It will be a breeze so don't worry too much.

I hope everybody had a nice weekend. The only downside to a three day weekend is the catch-up work.
Still avoiding the NVC obsession this week. I will start checking next week to see how things are going.

Thank you for your kind words everybody. We are pretty much organised to go now. Got all the correct fees in order and a big massive folder of stuff. Taking nothing at all with me that I don't need. No cell phone, wallet, keys etc. I want this to go as painlessly as is humanly possible. If we are approved I hope to be on the plane to be with Megan and the bump next Saturday.
Thinking of you all and godspeed the rest of this process for everyone one of us.

So two packages have been sent to NZ in the past few shipments.... this is a lot by 'normal' standards, so one must have been ours don't you think? I couldn't help but call last night to find out....yeah, umm nope. Stilll have not heard back from the Embassy either. ugh!

Love the icon.
Isn't funny how we go from being happy to get an NOA2 within three/four months, to being frustrated over three to four weeks for an interview packet. I think it is because we see the finish line getting closer.
Our thread is getting slower. I guess it is because once we get our NOA2 the path branches out depending on the country.
Hang in there Kim. After next week, I will be in your boat. I really thought there would be no way that my petition would go beyond our September target. I just hate the fact that the AOS period will be during the holidays.
While I have not fully researched the issue, I believe that advance parole, takes about 90 days or more to process. Which would be the same time frame for AOS. I just hate the fact that my SO will not be able to visit her family for the holidays. Plus, her mother has cancer and is undergoing more tests this week.
I can only imagine how difficult the transition for the SO must be. I hope I never take for granted the sacrifices that my SO is making because she believes in our relationship.

Brian, you are so sweet. I imagine Mimi is as well. I think you are going to make a wonderful husband.
thanks for your kind words. The psychological ramifications of this are incredible. It's a roller coaster for sure...and we are all so different in how we deal. I think i've managed fairly well all things considered for our particular situation. It's just been such a long....loooooong and bumpy road for us.
Russell has already given up so much for me...and I for him. I have no concerns about always appreciating that fact and since he's already lived here with us, no concerns about how he'll adjust. The people around me miss him almost as much as I do.
AP seems to be between 2-3 months according to current timelines...of course, we all know how that can go. I've heard of people calling the service centers to have it expedited. Perhaps that will be an option for you.

Kim, I am rooting for you from sunny Italy... I was worried about you when I didn't see you around last week, and I'm so sorry to see that your file seems to be stuck in limbo yet. Hopefully something will move soon for you!
As for me, still waiting for the Naples people to reply to my email. On any account, since I have to wait some time for the birth certificate, I am not too worried about that. I have a lot to do before I leave, and the additional time will allow me not to sweat it too much. Hopefully I'll be able to get to the US before Thanksgiving, or even earlier.. I'm looking forward to a fall wedding, and to our first holidays together in our own home!

I am now back and settled in from 2 weeks in the Ukraine.
This past Friday I purchased Alyonas ticket from Kharkov to Dallas.
Oct 6 should be the day she arrives assuming all goes well with the interview on Sept 22. I went to her physical with her in Kiev on August 14. For some reason I was expecting a much bigger place considering all immigration that requires a physical goes to this same office.

All of my thoughts are with you guys still waiting around. I feel blessed that our experience has went along fast from NOA2 stage.
I will be heading to a payphone as soon as I am out of the Embassy tomorrow to hopefully give Megan the good news and then she will be on here to let everyone know.
24 hours from now I'll be on the train back home to my parent's regardless of the outcome. And if all does go well I hope to be entering the States on September 12th.

Thanks for the kind words. As long as our embassy interview goes well then the rest will just be a memory.
I kind of wish the the status was reveresed. As a typical guy, I feel like I can control most situations and would not be overly concerned about passing an interview. Isn't it wonderful what a false sense of machismo can do.
But with the shoe on the other foot, I just can't wait to be with her in Mexico as we go through the process together.
I really will feel better, once the process returns to our government. Oh my, did I just say that.

raff... i work with pretty much everything computer...inside and out. When i'm running scans and loading software I have a lot of extra time and can post more but last week I was creating graphics and an entire website so it's much better for me if I can just get lost in the coding. The distraction has been nice during this stressful time but there are better ways i'd like to be spending my energy...like finding a way to put Russell's things back into our closet.
I am also looking forward to our Fall wedding and our first Christmas together ever! Russell's 30th birthday is also in December (yes, he's a pup ) ...and it will be the first time I truly get to spoil him on his special day. All that is keeping me going! Oh wow, Kim, it seems you have the same age difference as Michael and I have (he turned 39 last July, I am 47). I was also born in December, when I will turn 48 ... Joking, of course, because I don't look nor feel that age, thankfully! Michael was here for his b'day this year, and I did spoil him rotten indeed - he told me it was the best b'day he had ever had! I hear ya - we don't notice it either. It wasn't like that at first though. When we first met, I was 30 and she was 38 - but she told me she was 34!!! It took 3 months before she came clean and told the truth! She thought I was gonna dump her, but I actually just pissed myself laughing!!

For us it's actually 8 and a half years, with him being born in July and I in December. The odd thing is that my longest relationship (when I was way younger) was with a guy who was eight years younger than Michael, and that I had a couple of short-lived relationships with younger guys too. I tried older ones, but it was a total disaster ! Anyway, he's probably the more mature of us, having been married 10 years and being the father of 3 kids. I, on the other hand, am what I jokingly call a 'professional old maid', very independent, but at the same time inexperienced as regards living with someone else.

It's ten for Gareth and me! I've always liked older guys. Gareth looks younger than he is, when my mom first met him the first thing she said was that he looked very young. And that's good for him since he's a smoker and that is supposed to make ya look older if you've done it awhile. People always think I'm like 16 which angers me (for now anyway!). I'm lovin' my older man though!

Hi All,
Just wondering if any of you are going through the same process as me ( I know I can make myself crazy at times)... But Felipe and I are often talking about "what if", what if he doesn't get a visa. Which often then sparks an argument, just because our life in Chile together would be very very difficult. I think our main worry of him not getting it is because of his two previous attempts to get a tourist visa after we met and he got denied - after his second denial I applied for the fiance visa (the tourist visa was a lot easier to apply for). Also, I worry about every little thing and want to be mentally prepared just in case.... Just wondering if anyone else has any of the similiar issues and how you get yourself through them...

Hello everybody! I'm waiting for Luis to receive his packet... by the way I hate calling the embassy in Peru. Every time I call, they tell me I have to call between 2pm and 3pm and when I call between those hours, no one answers. When Luis called, they told him that they didn't have our application and that it could take 1-2 months to receive it from the NVC!?!?!? I'm getting very aggravated, to say the least. What should I do? They don't even have an e-mail address.
Luis & I are 8 years apart too. I'll be 25 in October and he's turning 33 in November. He acts like an old man too, lol. We're opposites, he goes to bed early, I stay up late. He's much more rational while I'm a little wacky.
Tell me how you guys are doing. I've been missing you guys

Sometimes we think 'what if' too. However, it's pretty obvious that we're really together and that this is not fraud so we feel like everything will be ok. I think he is more worried than I am, he's a bit of a worry wart. I'm not going to get myself all worried right now, and I tell him the same thing.
Tell him que 'todo va a estar bien y no te preocupes' that way he will relax. And maybe he'll think your Spanish is cute too!

Hi all!!!
Just back from my 2 week holiday - first time in America- and I FINALLY got to see my sweety after 4 months apart!! It was great (cept for my connecting flight being canceled due to a hurricane and me having to shell out another £200 on a flight with a different airlines- thanks AA for a great 'welcome to America' lol) I have to say I cant WAIT to go back- but it going to be another 2 months at least cos I need to make some extra cash while i still have a job! And I want to cultivate a proper British accent lol as Im sure I'll be more in demand for a job hehe...(my current accent is a aussie/americanish mish mash!)
Annoying enough- the british embassy had a letter waiting for me when i got back saying i have an interview on the TWELFTH of this month- I specifically sent them a letter with RED CAPS on the important bits asking for an interview after the 22nd!! I guess they dont read anything thats not paperwork! My fiance is now expressing mailing me affadits etc- its all here so soon!! Got to go get passport photos and copies this weekend and find the American embassy so I know how to get there Ahh!!! Its still so surreal!
Great to see everyone progressing!! Ok, im going to stop typing now as im jetlagging like CRAZY.
Love to all

Gaura, why did you shell out another £200 for a different flight!!??? The airline you booked with (AA) should have put you on another flight as soon as the storm subsided. I know, because the exact same thing happened to me the last time I was over there. I had to spend a night in Detroit airport, but by God, I made damn sure I was on the first flight out in the morning. I also wrote to the airline concerned (Southwest) expressing my total dissatisfaction at the way things were handled, and received a written apology (which I will be presenting as evidence of an ongoing relationship at the interview, btw ) and a full refund.
The moral of the story here is, that if these c***s #### you about, piss and moan about it BIG STYLEE!

Congratulations Jer...wont be long!
Gaura, how I wish I had your problems.
So nice to see you folks moving along.
Megan, a long hot bath and a nice massage (when your man gets home ) before bed will help you sleep some. You've probably been so busy getting the house set up that you're lulling the baby to sleep all day. Does he/she have a sleep pattern yet? With my first I was always up at 2am through my pregnancy...turned out that was her time to get up to nurse for a long time after she came into the world. Same thing happened with the 3rd. Get your rest now girl! Let us know when you hear something.
Damian, fiesty bugger!
One of our last hot days here i'm sure...close to 90 today. It's ok by me as the cooler weather only serves to remind me that fall is on it's way and he's still not home! Most people only get held up 2-4 weeks. It's been 3 for us stuck at NVC so that's got to mean something. What sh!t luck we have, really!

It's still quite hot here in Italy, and it doesn't show any signs of abating.. We haven't had any rain for almost three months, and I'd like to see some water falling from the sky for a change! Luckily mornings and evenings are cool and breezy, and there is no trouble whatsoever in sleeping at night.
So sorry about the delay, Kim... I wonder what the heck is up. You've waited long enough already, for heaven's sake... That reminds me of those nearly two months we lost at the beginning due to that problem with the address on the check. I really wish you all the luck in the world!

AA would only have been able to give me a flight the next evening and I'd have had to shell out $150+ on hotels and taxis in NY! (no hotel coupons or anything- it was quite funny in a way- I was like 'so where do I go to catch my next flight' 'Its cancelled' 'What?!' 'Havent you been to JFK before?' 'No, what is this a common thing?') There was also no telling when the storm would subside. And we already had a hotel booked in Orlando and it would have been a crushing night spent in NY after all that build up to NOT see him! I was near tears already! Im going to work on my dissatisfied letter to try get them to pay the money I had to spend!! Wish me luck for the refund!! Wish I could get them to pay for the extra jet lag and premature greys lol It was so unexpected- Ive traveled in India/Africa/Nepal and never had it happen to me! AA was like 'we are the face of America' - well thanks for the warm welcome, lol The weird thing is that Delta's flights for the same time were still going and they have the same flight path!! Poor you spending the night in the airport! I saw a few poor souls sleeping on the floor etc!
In other news- I managed to get someone to cover my work shift for my unexpected visa interview and my boss wont be in so thats great as he would probably get suspicious as to why I need the day off after my vacation!! God seems to be on my side again lol, I was wondering there what with the pound dropping and a hurricane at the start of my vacation

Its Graham here, just back from London and had something to eat. I'll give my full review once I've talked to Megan and let her know exactly what happened.
What I will say though is that the example form for the I-134 on here is slightly wrong. The issue relates to Question 11:- I intend do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3.
(If you check "intend," indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions. For example, if you intend to furnish room and board, state for how long and, if money, state the amount in U.S. dollars and state whether it is to be given in a lump sum, weekly or monthly, and for how long.)
On The example form it say to complete it with the following:- N/A (K1 Visa for permanent residence)
That is simply not correct and our visa was almost delayed due to this fact. But after a bit of pleading with the CO, who I won't name, he changed it for me after telling me that it wasn't completely accurate. The box for INTEND has to be checked and then stated that it is as "Financial support with the K1 Visa."
Thankfully the CO helped us out and I am now awaiting delivery of my Visa, but just to let everyone know that the form isn't correct.

Congratulations Graham, Megan and the bump.
Interesting about the I-134. Just a month ago, the one I filled out was not questioned at all. I didn't check either box of "Intend" or "Do not intend". Also put N/A (K1 Visa for permanent residence) like the sample. I don't quite follow what you did. Did you leave both blank too? What the CO suggested makes good sense to me.

CONGRATULATIONS Graham & Megan!
I'm so happy for you guys!
Luis finally got in touch with the embassy after three days of serious BS and they told him that the interview would be about a month from now and for him to call on Monday, and they will have it scheduled for him. They also told him he could pick up packet #3-4 (same packet) if he would like to.
I'm pretty psyched. My birthday is Oct 17 and I would love to be able to finally spend it with him.
I'm wishing good luck to everybody, and praying for Kim that they finish whatever it is that they are doing at NVC and send your petition to NZ already.

Yeah we left both blank and put in that same phrase. It does make sense to me what he was telling me. How long did it take for your visa to be delivered, if you don't mind me asking?
