My husband (the USC) is in the process of renewing his passport but I have to plug in his passport # for one of the flights. (Re-entering US from Europe.) Does anyone know if the passport # changes from the existing passport to the renewed passport? I don't want to give them the current # if the new one comes with a different #.
Thanks very much for any help you can give me.

Every time I've renew my UK passport the number changes. When I worked alongside immigration at Heathrow I did their forgery course and they said then that the passport numbers for just about every country changed when a new one was issued.
