You are impatient! Simmer down or you'll have a heart attack before you get your NOA2...you've got a bit of a wait still. smile.gif Looks like they're working mostly on November, with a smattering of early December thrown in: Igor's List
reeses16
I applied for my hubby's K1 in Jan 07, it wasn't approved until early May. Hope you're approved quickly, but judging by the previous poster's timeline, I'm guessing it will be May for you too.
sunnybear
LOL thanks! I did finally find the info on Igors list but just thought I would ask here in case maybe just maybe someone has not filled out a timeline wink.gif
I think there has been quite a few December applicants that have gotten NOA2's on BritishExpats but not 100%......

We have told ourselves as long as it happens before my Birthday (June 8th) it will be a good thing! haha....He already has his police record too LOL biggrin.gif

When I start seeing January filers at CSC getting approved I will post the tracking of who and when on the January CSC filers thread. I'll be very excited to do this as you can imagine.

And we will be very grateful to you for doing so! good.gif

I think by this time in April we will have already begun seeing January filers getting approvals, and in May we'll see a bunch. I hope we're all cleared before memorial day, although I know there will be some of us left behind to June and July sad.gif

Let's hope CSC gets their act together and most of us get approved. Hopefully we all have very unique names! Someone sent me a website one time where you could find out how many other people in the US have your name (I can't find the URL right now of course!). There were like 29 of my name...it also said that once I'm married I'll be the only person in the US with my name...hopefully that means his name is uncommon in Canada, too! biggrin.gif

I was hoping that would be an advantage, too! My name's common as muck but fortunately I'm not the USC, and Alex is the only Alex with his surname in the US. smile.gif
Cecile and Bryan
Bryan has a very common name. crying.gif Please please please I don't want any more delays in the process!!!
Oh well, as long as we get our NOA2 someday (hopefully in the next months), everything's fine I guess.

Keep in mind that CSC are taking about 4-6 months to approve, which is right up against your birthday. It's certainly possible to get your approval before then, but you should really plan for it not happening. Definitely don't make any plans around it.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the police certs are only good for 6 months. By the time he has his interview there's a good chance his current police cert will be expired.

Best of luck to you, and hang in there. You've still got some time to wait, but you're most likely over the 1/2 way point. smile.gif

it's summer now in the philippines so hopefully the beach would keep me distracted from thinking about the petition. but i still wish May would come really soon together with everybody's noa2! luv.gif

I am so jealous of your beach time! We lived on the east coast of the US when I was little and had a family cottage on the beach. We moved to the beach for the summer and I MISS IT! Now I live in a land-locked state...blegh. smile.gif
gabriela
wow cottage on the beach! i would love to live there! hehe. i also live in the city so i kinda have to travel to go the beach. and im a bit choosy so i often need to ride a plane just to go to my favorite beach. haha. its worth it though. cool.gif

I just read my signature! 4 days and a few hours!! That's what I'm doing right now. After that, I have no idea how I'll distract myself. Probably launch into wedding planning mode. smile.gif We're planning a civil ceremony right after he gets the visa, then we'll have a big wedding ceremony in May 2009.

Hmmm... I wonder how much people will have the exact name as I do.. I know theres some people with my last name in the states but the combination as I have it with first and last names, I doubt there is anyone with it hehe.. I believe in my own country, and it is a typical Dutch name, there is only 4 or 5 people with my name as first and last name lol.

Funny, yet sad, part about my name is that it is so hard for people to pronounce right... Try for yourself 'jeroen'... I believe phonetic spelled would be something like 'jah-roohn' or something lol.. oh wellz

Wouldn't that be wonderful! Dennis is planning a visit here the first week of July, but I'm really hoping that he won't be able to make it because he'll be at his interview! That's really, really optimistic of me...but a girl can hope! smile.gif

I don't know when will memorial day in the US be but I am hoping to see January CSC filers getting approval this month and then just before April ends February CSC filer approval would pop out.

The USCIS says they are processing files for Sept. 9 and I read somewhere that they always give a leeway of 6 months from the actual dates being processed and the processing date they post on their site. If that is the case then they are supposed to be working on some March cases already.

There's probably more december CSC filers who got approved already on Igor's list, they're just not active and has not updated their timelines... Whatever, I am positive there will be floods of January CSC approvals before the month ends. yes.gif

Good luck to all of you and I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

I've not heard that there's a 6 month leeway. In fact, it runs counter to what USCIS have said in the past, so I'm not sure I would trust it. The USCIS published "processing files for" date is the date of the oldest files they are currently processing. So it's really not an accurate date if you're looking at what files they're currently working on. The only real importance of this date is that if your case file is older than that date, then your congressperson will intervene on your behalf to see what the holdup is.

The best way to find out what month USCIS really are working on is to look at either Igor's stats or the VJ timeline stats. This will give a more informed view of where they really are. Remember, however, that even though case files are processed in the order they're received, they're not going to be completed or even worked on in the order they're received. The case worker your box ends up with might be on vacation for a few days, or out sick, or they might just be a slower worker. But the VJ stats and Igor's lists should give you a decent ballpark idea.

I'm trying to tell myself, and I tell anyone who asks, that I'm hoping for August, but planning on September. September would be a really nice time of the year for him to move, it's the nicest month of the year in Utah! We'll be driving (towing a trailer) from Winnipeg to SLC (about 22 hours), so I really want to be able to get him moved before snow starts falling.

well, i was reviewing the timelines of couples here in VJ and i found out that majority of the applicant's span of time from wen they got their NOA1 til theyve received their NOA2 is up to 3-4 mos..so january filers, we'll expect approvals coming this month til mid may! wwoohoo!

then to add up...still, based on what i observed frm VJers timelines..the span of time frm when they receive their NOA2 til they get an approval from their embassy interview is just for month. so us, january filers are expecting to be interviewed at the embassy on JulyAugust-ish..

and hopefully fly to the U.S. right after our approval!!!!!!!! star_smile.gif

P.S. swimming in Boracay Beaches is the best past time while waiting kicking.gif

WOW!!! I've never been to boracay, wish I could.. but Davao also boast of beautiful beaches, specially in Mati, Davao Oriental and in Samal Island and the best thing with our beaches here is that, most are not yet commercialized.

Are you a pre-school teacher Gabriela? I am also a licensed teacher (but I have never taught) and even took up masters in special education... I love kids, especially the special kids but I have no patience for the paper works.... sad.gif

OPPSS, sorry for hijacking the thread innocent.gif

it's actually my 3rd time in boracay this coming May. well what can i say... it's so beautiful you just have to go back! tongue.gif my fiance and i stayed in escondido resort before. this summer, i'm going with my girlfriends so we chose tonglen resort.. something cheaper hehe..but the place looks nice on the website.

i went to palawan last summer. honda bay is BEAUTIFUL! snake island is the most beautiful thing i ever saw. a friendly advice though, skip the day tour around puerto princesa! its a waste of time. better spend your palawan days on beaches and the underground river.

hope you and your honey can tour the philippines soon!

and yes sunnybear, pls share your wedding preparation stories. we'd love to hear them. biggrin.gif

skip the day tour! they will bring you to a crocodile farm (i doubt if you havent seen one in the zoo), a prison (they will just bring you to the souvenir shop), and a bakeshop with statues (yah, nice for picture taking but.. you wont go all the way to palawan to see statues right?)

if you're going to puerto princesa, make sure you spend 1 whole day in honda bay, another day for dos palmas (BEST fishfeeding experience in my life!) and to the famous underground river.

originally, we plan to have a civil wedding in the US then come back to the philippines for the traditional church wedding because all my family and friends are here. would that be a nice plan??? helpsmilie.gif but im scared that once the civil wedding is done, i'd be so lazy to fix a philippine church wedding esp if im the US already. tongue.gif

actually im considering a crazy vegas civil wedding. i told my fiance i wanna ride a helicopter and get married in the valley of fire. but i dont think he's taking me seriously hehe wacko.gif

anybody here had a vegas wedding? or planning to have one? just thinking of a fun and non-traditional civil wedding.

shes, is it cheaper to buy wedding stuff here in the philippines? goodluck with the wedding preparations! you sound excited luv.gif

u seem to be the modern fancy type of bride i think yes.gif thats one unique smart idea (the choper and vegas wedding) well, watever the type of our weding will be, as long as were gonna have it out of proclaming our Love for our swethearts, everything will be perfect!

about the wedding stuff..yeah, its cheaper here...to top that is the gown, my goodness i check out beautiful gowns in the U.S. (like the ones you can get from a boutique) and it cost alot!!!! but if you'll check the designs...girl! you can find same designs, some are more elegant looking here in the Philippines - ready made or tailored.

ready made - you can check out divisoria, they have alot over there( i havent checked personally but a frend of mine who knows someone who had a wedding in the U.S.,this someone bought her gown here in PI and everybody there were stunned by her gown) - you can also ask to adjust the gown you choose) i heard a P10,000 gown is already at its best though, you can still get elegant gowns for as low as P5,000

tailored - my sister in-law got a very elegant gown tailored for P20,000. it took 3mos before it was done.

about the other stuff like, give aways, hey!u can get P50 per item - also theres alot at divisoria
again my sister-in-law got a white classic, abstract looking bride and groom hugging each other give away for only P60 each..(its modern looking, not the common figurine..)

even the flower arrangement...im even thinking to get it here..(just that one for decorations) but the one il be holding and the brides will be from there cus ofcourse,it shuld be fresh tongue.gif

but the invitations..this one i found out just almost the same price in the U.S. so we'll get it there too..

oh and finally the wedding band!!!!!!!!!!! hey it is best to get it here..why? cus in the U.S. they dont have a 24K gold or white gold..if there is it cost ALOT! my again, sister in law (shes a jeweler) told me that you can get a P5,000 worth wedding band here. P10,000 is thicker.

my fiance, the engagement ring he gave me from a branded jeweler in the states cost $215..so if ul compute,an egagement ring in the U.S. equals the price of a 18K to 24K white gold wedding band (2 rings) here in the P.I.

try to buy some U.S. bridal magazine. u can compare the prizes....
gabriela
thanks so much shes for the tips! i was planning to compare wedding stuff prices in the US and philippines.. but you saved me the time. and i therefore conclude, DIVISORIA is the place! good.gif

how about the others? getting excited to prepare the your wedding too? wanna hear your stories luv.gif and shes, you can keep us updated abt ur wedding preparations. that would be nice!

When I start seeing January filers at CSC getting approved I will post the tracking of who and when on the January CSC filers thread. I'll be very excited to do this as you can imagine.

And i'll be your fan!!! yes.gif

I think by this time in April we will have already begun seeing January filers getting approvals, and in May we'll see a bunch. I hope we're all cleared before memorial day, although I know there will be some of us left behind to June and July sad.gif

as long as it's not august and september...

Make that two.. i have been hearing of people wanting to get married on memorial day and i don't know when memorial day will be blush.gif

BryantAliona, i'm really really rooting for your approval! USCIS has messed up your file and well, you can still be considered a January filer right coz you sent your 2nd I-129F on the very last hours of December 31st... but wait, you are also an October filer and a December filer. Well, whatever, I will be very very happy to CHEER for you when you finally get your approval! good.gif

Well, unfortunately there most likely will not be any January CSC filer weddings by memorial day (end of May). We should be able to get most of the January CSC filers approved by this time. Most of us will be looking at July/August weddings. I would love for CSC to prove me wrong.

oh, so memorial day is end of may tongue.gif ...

July and August is not bad for a wedding, we're even moving our wedding from october to august 8, 2008 (which was the original wedding date) and blake you can join the 08-08-08 band wagon. good.gif

originally, we plan to have a civil wedding in the US then come back to the philippines for the traditional church wedding because all my family and friends are here. would that be a nice plan??? but im scared that once the civil wedding is done, i'd be so lazy to fix a philippine church wedding esp if im the US already.

We originally plan on getting married here in PI on 08-08-08 and then apply for spousal visa after. I've journaled it HERE: my reasons why I wanted it here and my reasons why I changed my mind.. it was crazy coz I have paid for some wedding vendors already and we were still making plans even up to the day before we agreed to go for the K1 instead. Look at my signature that is our guest signature platter which we ordered from serendipity-crafts November of last year. I thought it would be a cool change from the traditional guest book.

Oh well, with the way its going we might still be married by 08-08-08 but then that guest signature platter won't have many signatures on it since our wedding in the US will be very very very small. It will still be a Christian wedding but a very very very simple wedding. But we still plan on having another ceremony here in the Philippine in maybe 3-5 years, it will serve as our renewal of vows. At least I will be able to help save for it when i get to the US.

ready made - you can check out divisoria, they have alot over there( i havent checked personally but a frend of mine who knows someone who had a wedding in the U.S.,this someone bought her gown here in PI and everybody there were stunned by her gown) - you can also ask to adjust the gown you choose) i heard a P10,000 gown is already at its best though, you can still get elegant gowns for as low as P5,000

about the other stuff like, give aways, hey!u can get P50 per item - also theres alot at divisoria
again my sister-in-law got a white classic, abstract looking bride and groom hugging each other give away for only P60 each..(its modern looking, not the common figurine..)

even the flower arrangement...im even thinking to get it here..(just that one for decorations) but the one il be holding and the brides will be from there cus ofcourse,it shuld be fresh

but the invitations..this one i found out just almost the same price in the U.S. so we'll get it there too..

oh and finally the wedding band!!!!!!!!!!! hey it is best to get it here..why? cus in the U.S. they dont have a 24K gold or white gold..if there is it cost ALOT! my again, sister in law (shes a jeweler) told me that you can get a P5,000 worth wedding band here.

Great tips shes. good.gif You seem to be like me, practical to the core (just a nicer way of saying "kuripot" whistling.gif ) I'll surely be checking divisoria for wedding materials when I go to manila for medical and interview. If I can't find the perfect gown then I'll go for the textiles which I believe also abounds in divisoria.

By the way, you don't need to buy those U.S. bridal magazine (SOO EXPENSIVE, at least for me), there are tons of wedding dresses on the net and you can already get a rough estimate of how much gowns cost there.

Check out this two: theknot.com, brides.com then you can go check the designers personal website.

I'm planning to have my dress done by our local seamstress (unless of course I can find something in divisoria), way cheaper than buying and also way cheaper than going to well known fashion designers or big fancy wedding boutiques here in the PI. Even here in davao, wedding gown cost 20,000-75,000pesos average!!! my budget for the whole wedding attire is only 5-10K pesos, that includes shoes and other bride paraphernalia already. Most people here that budget is too low, well I say, it can be done and I will have it done... I'll have my beautiful dress and beautiful shoes for that price and I won't exceed it... im even planning to cut that cost even a little lower if i can.

I won't be going for the big fluffy gowns, I just want a simple Grecian inspired gown. We'll be having a very simple wedding so I also don't want to be overdressed for the occasion and our wedding here in the PI will be beach wedding so a simple gown would still be suited. yes.gif

OH yes I am doing all our wedding planning! I have my dress already I ordered made from China to my measurements. It is a knockoff of one that is in all the magazines right now. The name brand is Alfred Angelo and has red trim around bust and around bottom hem and train and then red corset back. It turned out so beautiful and cannot wait to wear it for my man!!! We are planning a Sept 27th wedding and have a location picked already and the deposit check is sent (the lady is letting us change date if needed!!!).

We are trying to go with an autumn theme for here in Michigan. Colors will be all reds, oranges, browns. My daughter will have satin fall leaves in hair and attached to sash on her dress and I am thinking of having some in my hair as well. We are doing lots of nontrendy things since we are a bit offbeat (check out the site offbeatbride.com for way unique ideas! I even have the book haha). We plan to have my friends husband marry us since he got his officiant license or whatever and we are doing our own music via our mp3 player etc.....

I am also in the process of trying to buy us a house so yeah a bit busy on this end haha!

it's so nice to hear your wedding preparations! you all make me more and more excited! though i havent really planned anything for my own wedding yet hehe.

sunnybear and dbears, you seem all set for the wedding! luv.gif thanks for the suggested websites. i made an account in theknot.com. they have lots of gowns! but will also check those that you mentioned.

dbears, the platter is sooh cute! i also saw your other stuff in the other website. they're all beautiful. i love the invitation in the bottle. i think deciding to have the k-1 instead of the k-3 is really good for your situation. but i still pray that you can give the philippine wedding that your mom dreams for you... heart.gif

sunnybear, i've heard of alfred angelo. i can imagine how pretty your dress will be by the way you described it.

shes, i live in pasig! our timelines are very similar, we both live in manila, and have filipino fiances. haha APIR! biggrin.gif

hey i hope everybody will be able to get married on your planned dates. dbears on august 8, sunnybear on sept 27, and those who want a memorial day wedding.. let's pray that everybody's dream wedding will come true. rose.gif
dbears
shes and gabriela, i hope you would also drop by the Philippine regional forum. click HERE reading the post there will give you ideas for the next steps after NOA2... good.gif You'll soon be getting your NOA2 and it is not too early to prepare for it now... we were approved march 18... by march 28 our papers was already at the embassy. when we called last tuesday, we were given the option to have the interview as early as april 9... grabe, KALOKA! next week na kaya yon, we haven't prepared anything yet. So decline and lola nyo and chose May 23 instead.

You're both within metro manila, no need to book for flights etc. that is actually an advantage if they suddenly give you interview date just one week after you make the call. So i hope you guys will not repeat the same mistake we did, waiting for NOA2 and interview sched to prepare. Of course there are documents that should be prepared as close to interview as possible but most papers are valid for a year. I suggest you prepare those so you'd be ready whatever date they give you.

Good luck everyone.

Thank you gabriela. My mama only dreams of seeing one of her daughters wear wedding gown so I will surely give it to her someday soon... I am only praying that my papa will still be alive when that time comes. sad.gif
