Ask for proof that he's free to cook, and also ask for proof of funds that he will have ample money to buy said supplies to cook once the book arrives

Yes I SERIOUSLY put the thread in the box with the book and mailed it today. I am going to be furiously checking the status on the delivery confirmation because I must know his reaction.
