Ok guys help me with this one here. As some might know my wife is here on a CR-1 visa and just yesterday she received her SSCard a week after applying for it. Now after reading all these question on work permits it kind of has gotten me a bit confuse. Do we need to file some type of work permit or work request form with the USCIS or can she start working right away since we receive a SSCard? I keep reading K-1 posts on this topic but no CR-1 applicants are posting back. Thankz!

With the CR1, your wife is considered a legal permanent resident and is authorized to work. No need for any other work permit. She can start working any time she wants. smile.gif

He he. Sorry, there's very very few of us CR1 here on the Philippine sub-forum. There's even only a K1 guieline. :-)

Anyway eau_xplain is right.

Off topic: Hey man, where are you in Dallas? Man I miss that area. I lived in Plano for about 5 years. I loved the weather! Not too cold, not too hot. A huge airport close by and that beautiful ball park in Arlington. Almost forgot, Hooters everywhere! he he. Sorry man, just reminiscing a bit.

My wife is from General Santos in Mindanao. She have actually met quite a few ladies from VJ personally already. This site is great man. Lots of knowledgable people. I envy you though, I'm here in Palm Springs right now and it kinda s*cks compare to Dallas area. But my wife and I are planning a move to NYC area soon so no biggie.

Anyway, good luck with your house hunting. Its a buyers market right now. Plano is great but Allen is better I think. cheaper real estate tax in Allen if I recall.
