I called the Embassy and got an appointment for April 22 for my interview. The lady sent me a email which she told me to keep and forward to my fiance and bring to the medical. So I flew my fiance out to Manila with all the required things and they said she needs an appointment letter and that the form she brought was not one. So I called the Embassy and they told me you dont need any letter because they can just look up my case online at manila.usembassy.com. I called them again today and the man said that the email the embassy sent me was the right one and I dont need an appointment letter. Someone at St lukes said to my fiance they wont approve her until they have this but the embassy says its not neccessary. They did her medical tests all day yesterday and are finishing today, I dont know what they want from me or how to get it. Does anyone know?

Yeah, those damn appointment letters...wat a pain in the A__!!!!!!!!!!! We also never got one, even though the embassy says they sent it out twice....ha!
Here is what we did - we had no problem using this option at SLEC.
Go to the US Embassy web site to the appointment lookup page, enter your case number and your appointment info will display on the screen. Take a screen Print of that page and print it out. Now the trouble is, you name is not displayed. So, if you bring another document, like the letter the NVC sends out which has your name and case number (but not your appointment schedule), then in this way you can prove your name with this case number has an appointment with the USE Manila on this date. Worked for us with no trouble at SLEC.
Now am just hoping that this same thing will work for getting past the US Embassy guard on the day of the embassy interview. Both Lorraine and Grace at the US Embassy have insisted this is fine and I dont need the "appointment letter". We'll see.....
Good luck!
