Not to begrudge Eresh's
thread tracking NOA-1 to NOA-2 timelines (s/he did a great job), but I thought it appropriate to start a new thread.
I began tracking just NOA-1s after USCIS stopped issuing NOA-1s for I-130s in late 2007. The tracking spreadsheet has evolved as USCIS has evolved and I added the NOA-2 dates for I-130 only filers as well as breaking out separate sheets between VSC and CSC and averaging the days between filing and NOA-1 receipts, NOA-2 dates and dates from filing to NOA-2s. You can find separate listings for Vermont and California right under the header.
I update the sheet every few days based on VJ time lines of CR-1/IR-1 filers. I do exclude time lines that appear to be either erroneous or DCF to try to keep the information as accurate as possible. But, it can only be as accurate as the information entered in the VJ time lines. Please make sure your information is correct and keep in mind, only California and Vermont process this type of petition.
You can find the spreadsheet
here.
I received two Notices of Action from the USCIS this year: one for the receipt, and the other for the approval. ???

It's updated again.
I decided to take the 2 service center sheets and sort them by NOA1 date. I had a feeling that VSC was processing based on NOA1 date, but that theory doesn't stand supported. VSC is just approving them randomly, best I can figure. CSC, although slower than VSC, at least seems to have some kind of method to their madness.

It has always appeared to random to me...people who have a NOA1 date before and after us have gotten their NOA2. I think it all depends on the details of your case.

According to the NOA1 timeline, there are only 2 people waiting before me. But there have been people approved that got their NOA1 after me too, so I am not sure whether to be hopeful or ticked off... grrr I just want to be with my husband, is that a crime?
If you've never gotten a touch I can't see how it can depend on the details of your case. Wouldn't they have had to have begun processing to know whether it is a complicated situation or not?
I should imagine that the highest incident of "complication" is previous marriages. Behind that, children. After that, criminal backgrounds. So the simplest cases would be in terms of first marriages for petitioner and beneficiary. It'd be interesting if we could collect any complications and see if we could come up with a pattern.
Are those people who've been approved ahead of others 1st time marriages?
(I'm leaving out obvious expedites due to country of origin. Those make sense and I agree w/them.)

Yeah they are using the files to put underneath the wobbly tables in the breakrooms
Maybe we should just buy them new tables, eh?

What do you mean "expedites due to country of origin?
And as far as our case, this is not the first marriage for either of us, he is in removal proceedings, and he EWI. And I am sure there are many other "complications" from his file...but honestly I think USCIS makes complications where there really isn't.
There are countries that get quicker attention if there are humanitarian concerns.

Yes, thank you so much. I never really look at the spreadsheet with CSC and VSC mixed but WOW...CSC seems to be WAY ahead of VSC. And when I looked at it sorted by NOA1 date...it appears that VSC is working on January dates...PLEASE I hope this is true...this whole process sucks.

Hi All, just starting off the journey officially - have been in here reading for months..
Could you please add me to your timeline. Hubby and I have also sent off petitions for my son and daughter, so whether you want to include their timelines as well as mine, is up to you. It will be interesting to gauge how close the petitions stick together during the process and I think would be a useful guide to others going through the journey with lil ones. So far we have only received a NOA1 for just myself and son. I am guessing daughters' NOA will come tomororw, well hoping...
Anyway..... lets see how we go... :-)

Other than that, I can't fine one single I-130 approval since May 6, so no other updates to report at this time.

My daughter's NOA-1 finally arrived in the mail today - almost a week behind the others. It has the same date so it must have gotten side-tracked in the post.
Can relax now as we go on to the next phase. The last thing I wanted to do was deal with a USCIS officer on the phone ~phew!~

Has anybody noticed that CSC is at least a month ahead of VSC when you sort by the NOA1 date? And when you look at the two centers combined...geesh it is ALL Vermont people who have not been approved until you get like 3/4 of the way down the spreadsheet.
This just sucks because we have reached our six month point...and nothing. I checked the USCIS website and they haven't updated their processing dates.
