Hello Canadians,

I'd like your opinions on how much time to plan between the interview date and our move date. I've read a lot of posts where people seem to get their visa just a couple days later; others have said about a week. We will be driving and renting some sort of cargo van, so I'm wondering how much time I should plan between the interview date and our move date. Is 1 week enough? I know it's better to be safe than sorry but we have other reasons (besides just being tired of being apart) to get a move on AOS and AP and EAD and all that. So I would love to hear all of your opinions about what you think is a smart amount of time to allow. Thanks so much in advance! biggrin.gif

I didn't buy my plane ticket until after I got my visa...

my interview was on a Monday and back then they were still giving the CR1 visas out the same day... I got home on Tuesday I bought my plane ticket on Wednesday and I moved to the US on Saturday ...lol

I would recommend about 10 days. I booked mine for one week after interview and cut it close as my visa didn't arrive til late the night before my flight.

If all goes well at interview, I'd say 10 days is the safest bet.

I had waited almost 2 years to be with him so I didn't want to waste any more time....

(the visa process took about a year)
