In the JSC instructions it says after you paste the barcode into the word doc you have to change its size via "format picture...". But when I pasted the barcode in, it already looked like the same size as the sample barcode that was already in the template file. Does this mean the template file has an incorrectly sized image? Checking the original file, that image doesn't have the instructed dimensions... So what did people do? Anyone got an RFE? tongue.gif

as long as the barcode is the same side. you won't get an error.
if you using the barcode other than your own you then will. because that consider invalid barcode.

Sorry but you don't seem to be answering my question. The template word file has the bar code in the same size as the web site generates it, but then the instructions tell you to adjust the size to make it smaller... I would have thought that the template file would already have the smaller size bar code if indeed you were supposed to make it small in order for it to be accepted, or?

Anyway, I talked to NVC and they generated my I-864, so I'll be sending the stuff tomorrow. If nobody clears this up, I'm thinking of sending two coversheets, one with each size of barcode tongue.gif

i already tell you the answer.
the bar code per james short cut and
word template will not match no matter what. that why james tell you to adjust the barcode accordingly.
it up to you on how big or small the barcode is. if you cannot make that judgement i suggest don't used the shortcut.

barcode is for scanner to skan the case number in. if you have big bar code or small it won't effect. sine they just use a scanner and read it tranfer the info as receive into the computer. NVC agent know your case is there they then look at the paper copy for review then put in computer as either info complete or not.
