Does everyone send their renewal for their EAD by 90 days prior to the expiration date, or is proof of having filed enough for an employer to keep an employee? Example: if we send our renewal a month or two before it expires, but show the receipt and are able to produce the card within 90 days, is that okay?
I know that truly you should renew before you reach that window, but we're having a hell of a time trying to get any answers about his AOS. It's on lock down in the Chicago office for reasons unknown and our congressman's office is calling every week to get an answer and both offices insist that they'll reach a decision before his EAD expires (which is why we're hesitant to waste the $300+).
Any advice?
