Well evidently we are staying in Texas as it shows service center on biometrics notice to be TSC so I don't know where the guy at National got it we were being transferred to Vermont. That's fine though as things are at least starting to move in Texas. I have to take my car to the shop in less than an hour so I won't be on when you check your mailbox so GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

Whoo Hoo - mail truck was half an hour early! I have my biometrics too! Yipes, it is for Saturday April 19th at 2 PM. That changes our plans for Saturday - I have company visiting from Canada that week, and we were going to go to the Renaissance Festival - looks like that will have to be Sunday instead. Heheh could have been worse - it could have been scheduled when I was supposed to be driving her to the airport! Hmm - the notice date is April 3 - took a week to get here. But hey - it's here!

Have my fingers crossed for you! If it isn't in today's mail it will be any time now because yes, you must be there in the same batch with the rest of us.

Yep - they seem to be doing things in Batches - a bit like how many of us ended up with a 'touched' date of 3/19 - some of us got transferred that date and some of us didn't (according to the online status, if you believe it) - so i guess that was one of their days for picking through the pile and choosing who transfers and who doesnt.

So here's hoping those others in the 'earlier' batch with us also get their Biometrics.

CONGRATULATIONS! I forgot they were doing some on Saturdays. Keith will have to take off work a half a day as his is at noon. He works 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. so he can at least get a half day in. I had seen on the AOS site when I was bored and looking the other night that Tampa is real slow with biometrics (at least for the AOS biometrics) so that is probably why ours is so much farther out than everyone else's (May 1st). But that is fine, at least we have a date now. Ours is dated 04/03/08 too (a Thursday) but was postmarked 04/07/08, this past Monday.

My appointment is 10am, which if my last Biometrics appointment is anything to go by will mean that I will need to take the whole day off lol

The last time I had Biometrics, I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time, but then I wasn't actually done until a full 3 hours later - seriously lol

Add to that it's on the opposite side of town, and Houston traffic and there's most of my day gone right there!

Much better to take the whole day off and then I dont have to sit there stressing about work.

Biometrics sure seem to have changed since I did my last ones - in fact, all of the ones I have ever done . . . 4 sets. Then, I think the longest I had to wait was half an hour - and for the first ones I was in and out in 15 minutes. Ah well!

No - it's not in the mail for me today... i'm so disappointed but finger cross for tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!

My notice was printed a week ago and the envelope dates stamped 3 days ago - so blame it on USPS. It will be there for you soon - hopefully tomorrow.

Qingquin - had you checked your case status before today and if so, did it originally show you were in Texas and then updated with the new case status? I am wondering because some of us on our status show our files are in Texas and we think we are staying there. I was wondering if at one point your case status showed Texas and then they changed you to Vermont . . . like is there a possibility any more of us will be transferred to Vermont if our case status TODAY still shows Texas (I hope I'm not confusing anyone).

Just a quick update from me ... my wife just called immigration in order to receive some information about our application.
She didn't get the most helpful person. All she told us is that the number of my check serves as temporarily proof for my green card extension (what?????) and that she will put in a special request into the system as of why we haven't received anything yet. She refused to give any information (also no tracking number) or to connect to an immigration officer at NSC. Of course, we are slightly annoyed right now and will try calling again in some minutes, hoping to get someone else.

Yes Kalydon, call again. If you have kept up with this thread you will read that several of us have called numerous times until we got a "helpful" person. I just wrote down the names of the people I talked to that were not helpful and if they answered I would have just hung up and tried again. I took me three times getting someone and I think it took three times for someone else on here to. Hey, it doesn't hurt to keep trying and it will make you feel much better when you can actually get some information.

Yes, and infact it also helps explain the transfers, due to formation of a Quazar, where when the volume entering becomes more than can be gobbled up, it ends up getting flung out at the 2 poles at very high velocity (Usually toward the VSC or CSC nebulas, where the energy injected encourages star formation - otherwise known as light at the end of the tunnel - still a slow process, but filled with clarity, hope and warmth)

Please add us to your list. I'm no good at online editing yet so won't even try to add us. We mailed ours 4/9 and my husband just confirmed that it was received this morning. We used Express mail and I was worried because it showed attempted delivery yesterday and said they would send it back if not received in 5 days.

My husband's green card and driver's license expire 6/9 so we have a little time, but I have a job opportunity with my company possibly in Belgium in a couple of months, so I'm really hoping they hurry up his biometrics so that is done before we go if I get it.

Our local office is Atlanta, which is about a 4 hour drive, but last time they let us get biometrics in Charleston, which is only about an hour and a half drive. The Charleston office is very efficient and easy to work with, so we hope to get that one again. Our appointment last time was for about 8 AM, but we got there at about 7:30 and were done and out the door before our appointment time.

No the problem is - I' just booked my flight to Canada and I still have no extension letter... should I make an info pass to get a stamp on the same day or should I wait.. it's 3 hours drive to Charlott so... I wish I dont have to drive 2 times...

Ok, here are my questions: When does your GC expire and when are you traveling? Are you flying out of Charlotte and that is why you asked should you drive twice? What time is your flight? I guess if I were you and my GC expired before my trip I would go ahead and make my Infopass for that day with plenty, plenty, plenty of time to get to the airport. Can you drive to Charlotte the night before, stay in a hotel, and have the first appointment for your Infopass? I think I would make it ASAP and you can always cancel. I don't think they let you book an appointment though any more than two weeks out and I forgot when you said you were traveling.

I'll be flying out from RDU (Durham/Raleigh) on May 15 and my GC expire May 9... I mean driving to Charlotte 2 times becasue one for bio and one for info pass to get stamp.. I hope they understand that it'll take me about 3 hours to drive there and i'll lose my work day and let me have info pass the same day as my bio (April 23) so I can take only one day off.

OR hopefully we will get our extension letter next week!!!

Anya - do you know for sure the biometrics office is the same location as the Infopass office? When we lived in Birmingham during AOS, our biometrics was actually in Birmingham but for Infopass we had to go to Atlanta. We are now in Tampa and we have both here but they are at different places in Tampa - one right outside Tampa and the other sort of near the airport. Have you checked the Infopass site to make sure the address of the Infopass? If they are the same I would go ahead TODAY and make that April 23rd appointment.

Way to go, Anya! Yes, I wouldn't presume on the NOA extension letter coming any time soon given the current evidence, and would make an infopass appointment. If you explain why you would like to have the appointment on the same day, maybe they will accommodate you Other options might be having it late the day before or early the day after and staying overnight instead of repeating the drive. Not a great solution, but possible.
