hello VJ members! anyone here who's been approved, got their NOA2 hardcopy and still waiting for the case number? please share your updates...

Hello there, we got approved march 18, got the NOA2 hard copy March 23. Rick called NVC March 24 and we already have our MNL case number. NVC also told him that our file arrived @ their office March 21 and will be sent out to USEM soon. Rick will try calling again this Thursday to check if they sent our file to USEM already. I have also emailed NVC yesterday requesting for status update (when it will be sent to Manila) but I used the MNL case number instead of the EAC number already, I'm still waiting for reply though.

I have a friend who was approved March 3, her fiance called USEM last Monday and they were already given options for interview dates (April 22 or May 23), they've settled for a May 23 date. You were approved earlier than them so there is a good chance your case in already @ USEM and ready for interview sched., try verifying with NVC if you haven't done yet and then try calling USEM.

Do we have to register with NVC website somehow so they will send me an email update with the case number? or does this come from when I registered with USCIS website?

About 15 days after the approval date, call the NVC service center at (603) 334-0700 and they should be able to give it to you. That's the usual timeline. They will need your fiancee's name and date of birth as well as your CIS receipt number. They will mail you a letter when they send your info to the embassy.

Ryan, did you call 'em up or did you get a notice from NVC? Also what's the best time to call NVC? Maybe I'm always calling at the wrong time, I'm tired of getting bounced around by the "main menu" because of busy operators all the time.

I called. It was probably a little bit before I made that post. If you call and it tells you something in spanish, it's about to drop you back into the queue, but if it tells you how long you have to wait, then you're in.

after having the NVC case number,can we call the USEManila for the medical and interview dates?

I called NVC 5 minutes ago..I got up early just to call them up...first time I've spoken to a live operator & I got the good news I've been waiting for. We have our CASE number ..our case number was assigned 2 days ago..& our case has been forwarded today to Manila..Yahoo!!!!

Congrats, That's awesome!! From what I have been seeing, that 2 days seems also fairly typical for K1/K3 visas. I am hoping that ours will be forwarded tomorrow.

OggyFX51 You really can't call until the embassy has it in their hands and in their system. Just because you have the number does not mean that someone at the embassy has acknowledged receipt yet. Plus I think you'd have to pay $18 for a PIN for the call, not to mention whatever the long distance fees are.

Yeah, I wound up looking at the 03/25 packet. the 03/26 ones weren't in when I looked earlier. Wow, 42 lbs of documents, I am dying to know just how many applications that is. LOL

We already have the hardcopy of our NOA2 but still waiting for our case number. My husband will try to call NVC next week to check if they've already assigned us a case number.

Also, I read that we should call USEM for interview appointments ONLY after we have received our appointment letter. Calling them right after we got our case number and them not getting our case yet will only be a waste of money for us.

Well I called NVC and they gave me my case #. they received it 3-31 and sent it out to manila 4-2 !!

Starting to get a bit anxious now.

Man!! I am really jealous.. been bugging NVC but the automated voice in the phone says we dont have any records from their system. I am dieing to know whats our MNL case number!!!!

Call NVC @ (603) 334-0700, press 1, then 5. Be ready with beneficiary's full name, date of birth and your NOA1 or 2 receipt number. You cannot use the automated system to check K-1 Visas as they do not load these into the automated system. You must speak with a live person.

Ohhh thank you so much, its not me that calls NVC but my fiance, everytime i tell him to call that # he always get the same answer NO RECORD ON FILE from an automated voice machine. I will tell my fiance to do that, thank you so much.

Let Him know call either before 9:00 am or after 10:00 pm to get through to a person. Most other times of day it is difficult to get through.
