Hi!

I just received packet 3 from the Montreal embassy today....Yay!!!!
3 questions:

1 - Their instructions related to form DS-156K are not very clear though: do I have to return the form DS-156K along with forms DS-156 and DS-230? Or do I bring form DS-156K only on the day of the interview?

2 - Since I was born in France I obtained a certified translation into english of my original birth certificate. However, the instructions included in packet 3 state that "translations must be certified by a competent translator AND SWORN TO BY HIM BEFORE A NOTARY"....Anyone knows ho to deal with this and drag a certified translator in front of a notary?

3 - Can I return the checklist at the same time as forms DS-156 and DS-230 or should I send it separately?

1-no need to return the DS156k but bring it with you at the interview.

2-i am born in france too i got the translation with a company who gives certified translation, you should find some online. it is sworn by the translator in front of a notary. so i dont think you have nothing special to do, just to find the right translator.

3 - i sent all of them together

The document that the translator gave back to me is an electronic version and has a seal saying "Certified Translator - Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario", with the name of the translator and his translator registration number. There is no mention that it was sworn in front of a notary though....I will probably have to have the documents translated somewhere else??
What company did you use for your translations? (I used Traductions Boomerang)
Did they give you a paper copy of the translated document or did they just send you an electronic version of it?
By the way....is your nickname Melusine related to where you come from in France? (I'm from Poitiers)
