I just spoke to an NVC operator and she said that my DS-230 was generated yesterday and I should receive it in 2 to 4 weeks.

However when I called the automated line just now, it is still mentioning an old message and not what I was expecting. I was expecting the messages below

QUOTE
DS-230 Generation:
"NVC is expecting return of the biographic forms by the petitioner... "

DS-230 Receipt:
"The NVC has received the checklist letter response on ..."

My question is, how reliable are the NVC operators. Should I believe her instead of the NVC auto system?

I obviously want to do the James' shortcut and dont want to wait 2 to 4 weeks for the DS-230 packet. I just want to know if anyone have any experience with the messages on the auto system being wrong.

Thanks

Call again. I had a hard time getting the NVC operators to tell me if it was generated or not and ended up waiting for it. Chances are they did generate it.

He he. Great idea! Sometimes the best and simplest ideas escapes us. whistling.gif

I'll call again much later tonight to make sure I get a different person. If they say its generated again, I'll go ahead with the shorcut.

Thanks Mate

I just spoke with NVC. The operator told me the ds-230 package was printed out today, and that it will be mailed out this week.
However, my automated message has not changed since March 13,. My IV bill is in the system, I864 is ok.
My question is…. how long it takes them to send the DS-230 package out, from the time they generate it?
Or should I really go with the shortcut?

I just spoke with a different NVC agent and she confirmed that my DS-3032 instruction was printed out today and will be sent out this week.

Anyway, I'll be preparing mine tonight using James' shortcuts and will send it tomorrow. I actually have all supporting docs from my wife already. No point in waiting for NVC. :-)

Good luck to you Ales!

My case is completed and I have the message for DS230. So I would call and confirm with operator.

We paid our IV Bill one week after you did and our DS230 was generated on March 24th so yours should have been generated already. If you have called and spoken to different operators and they all confirm that your DS230 has been generated or printed or sent then I wouldn't worry about the automated system not reflecting this.

Good luck!! I envy all of you who are able to return the DS230 papers upon your DS230 being generated. Singapore just changed to Appointment Processing and here the police department won't issue a police certificate without the DS230 letter so I actually have to wait for it to arrive via snail mail and then there is a further 2 week wait to get the police cert. wacko.gif oh well!

Thanks everyone!!!

normally if operator said it generate it does. just send your ds230 out.
i got the same on my case from automate "missing info" i spoke w/operator check if ds230 generate it does, but it will stuck in the mail room before it send out. and if you send your ds230 back don't send overnight it also will stuck in mailroom.

here example of my case
call feb 27 about ds230 (it generate)
the real ds230 generate in feb 27 but not send out, stamp from mail room is march 3, i received it march 6 because i live in Vermont.
feb 28 overnight back - call the system see if update, nothing until march 6, then march 13 case complete.
just to let you know.

The automated system is not updated on a regular basis is my guess. I called last night and the system still says "your case was completed on 3/3/08. Please wait 8 weeks for further instructions." I spoke with the NVC operator and we were assigned an interview date. You should take wahtever info the live operator gave you and run with it.

Good Luck!!

Yeah I came to a conclusion that the NVC auto system are not reliable.

Hello All,

I sent in my AOS and IV Bills ( they came from NVC at same time) last week and I sent back checks, they received them on April 1st, 2008. My questions is does the I-864 and the DS-230 request from NVC come at the same time just like my fee bills came? I am hoping to send them both out as soon as they come.

*Also, Should I try to do Jamie's Shortcuts for this last step or simply wait for the Mail requesting this from NVC?

Thanks in advance !
