Morning folks,

Just wanted to share some good news that last week, while back in Canada, the company I had interviewed with the previous week offered me a full time job doing Software QA testing!!! Yee haw, Yahoo! Wewt!

The immediate result of this was me heading to the mall for a random shopping spree....ok, so I spent most of my money at Reitman's, Gap and Payless on work clothes, but whatever! I heart.gif Shopping smile.gif ......on that note, i have to say that I can't find anywhere like Reitman's down here where you can get decent fitting clothes for an adult that don't look like they were made for my mother or my daughter.

A friend gave me this list of popular interview questions and sample answers which really helped me prepare. It had been a long time since I'd been on an external interview.

Actually - I recently went to Dress Barn and liked it.....kind of like a Winner's so a little hit or miss (or maybe that was Marshall's ? ), at the time I was looking for decent 'non-mommy' jeans, but you're right, they had a great looking selection of work/office clothes!

Thanks everyone

That was Marshall's. Or Ross Dress for Less. They're both like Winners. Dress Barn is very much like Reitman's. Ross's is awesome. But I have to be in the mood to peruse. And if there are screaming kids running around, I'm outta there. mad.gif

Actually - I could be lucky, dunno - no slavery yet for me....the salary they offered was SIGNIFICANTLY higher then what I used to make - 40% or so. Due to demand for certain roles I suppose and slightly more expensive standard of living in this area. I do know that I would nvr have made this amount at my old job, no matter how experienced I was and how many raises I got...they had a sucky payscale

Hey congrats!

Didn't realize you were a 'neighbour'! smile.gif

Hubby works in Chantilly, and I'm all over depending on which client I'm at for the day...mostly Fairfax or Gainsville...today I'm in Falls Church.

Congrats!! Sounds amazing!

Also - for work clothes, I think Ann Taylor is nice, or Ann Taylor loft... but what I really love in the US for work clothes is Nordstrom or Macy's!! The department stores are AMAZING. Far superior to Sears, The Bay etc.

Congrats on the new job!!

Ann Taylor's has lovely clothes. Don't think I've been in a Nordstrom's yet. unsure.gif
