I was wondering if it is possible to get a job with the only EAD given at JFK POE or if it is necessary to obtain first a SS card or just a SSN??

I think that you have to get the SSN for work

they may let you put it off for a short time but you definitely need a SSN..

Thanks for that. It seems on your timeline that everything went pretty quickly for you. I'd like too to get married right after I am in the US, so that we won't have t wait even longer to apply to AOS... Did you get the chance to have a wedding ceremony? I wonder if at the AOS interview, they will bother us because we won't be having any wedding ceremony for now. We just want to be done with paperwork asap, and think about a real and nice ceremony later. And about your SSN, it seems like you apply right after entering in the US. It wasn't a problem?? I heard you were supposed to wait at least 2 or 3 weeks before asking for a SSN, because before, you are not in their system, and so they won't grant you a SSN...

You may apply SSN right away soon as u enter the US. In my case I applied SSn after our marriage so that I don't have to change my maiden name to married name again.
