Congrats, we got out interview April 23rd. Information for everyone. I called the Embassy today and was told with the new process that started March 19th a packet is not mailed anymore just a letter with instructions on printing the forms online. So after you have NVC approval you can call and get your interview date. This is so much faster than the old process. The embassy received our visa paperwork on March 17th and we have the interview April 23rd. Thanks so much to everyone on VJ this site is amazing.

My fiancee got mis information about the passport.. it seems the Phils is changing to the newer scanning passports and the process take 3 to 4 weeks. I read several post ago that this was a possibility.. I will now have to call and reschedule be my luck they will push us way out late may or june.

3-4 weeks??? wow it takes long for only renewing the passport.... It is confirmed by DFA? hope she will get her passport renewed 1 week before the interview, it is 21 days from now. She will know when she can pick up her passport when she finished with DFA, they will give her a receipt when to pick up. So it will give you both the idea the date when she can have the passport in hand, my advice is do not reschedule yet until Zandy come to DFA and have the date when to pick up her new passport.

Mike, If you hanven' done it yet, please call the Teleserve folks as I suggested before in another thread to you. They are the fastest way to get your renewal and they can confirm (or negate) all the disperate information regarding current passport processing times. (reminder, the new Machine Readable Passports require passport photos with a ROYAL BLUE background, not the WHITE Background like before. Don't rely on all the photoshops to know this. In the PI, you have to triple check everything that someone tells you....)

We're on the same boat. My interview is also on the 22nd of April.

My fiance is on her 2nd day of her medical today. When the medical is done, its just one more thing left. The interview.

I think the interview will be fine. I'm more worried about the doc verification eventhough we have submitted and paid for it almost a month ago.

I guess there's only one way to find out.

I'm flying back on the 20th so I'll see some of you guys at the embassy.

When we're all in line at the gate, I will shout out. "Sino kayo taga Visa Journey?"
