I wasnt too familiar with the Peruvian culture, but I received a good strong dose of passing the Peruvian Pisco around the table my first week there, till I could no longer see straight. jejeje.........

I've spent a lot of time working/studying/travelling in Latin America - my BA is in Cultural Anthropology, with an emphasis on Latin America. I had wanted to spend an extended time in Brazil for years by the time I graduated from college and got a job there. When I met my husband I had been living in his city for 4 months and had learned Portuguese - so I was quite familiar with Brazilian culture by the time we met. I know even more now...
I have plans to go back and visit this August - even if my husband doesn't want to go back yet

Pretty familiar as we lived together (with his mom and sister) for 6 months before we got married. Obviously now that I've been there I understand a lot more, but going to Peru wasn't the total shock it would have been otherwise.
