I asked this over inthe Uk specific form as well,
I haven't been on the board for a long time now, too busty settling into my new life here, which btw is great.
I was just wondering if anyone can refresh my memory, I came over here on aIR1 visa last July, I have my greencard, social security number etc,
I am planning on visiting my family back in the Uk in May, will there be any problems/issues at immigation when I fly back to into the US, ?
I think I had to wait 6 months before leaving and returning, but I could be wrong, and I think I still head for the foreign line at the airport immigration?, any help greatly appreciated.
Also if anyone here is plannng on resettling in the Norh georgia/Atlanta area and would like some info/ADVICE on what to expect etc, please do get in touch

Hi, when I had a greencard before, I always used the citizen/resident line (shorter thank goodness). I just needed my UK passport and greencard, no questions asked. I'd be surprised if it's changed.
As soon as you have your card, you're free to roam.
I don't recal seeing a separate line at ATL for just residents, it was citizens/residents in one line (of which you are) and the other line was with all the visitors (which you are not).

I've been spending my time in Columbus GA when flying backwards and forwards, and when I return this time with my new residency I will be living in Atlanta, which is quite a cool place.
At least the weather is better there right now than England

That makes it all clearer, you know how it is even after being here for 10 months I'm still nervous of doing the wrong thing somehow
Yes Atlanta is a cool place, I live about 45 miles north of the city itself, but we visit for nights out and to see friends, I lIke it, there's a very friendly amosphere and indeed the weather is so much better than back home, except last Saturday of course when the tornado hit.
I've been meaning to connect up with other Uk people in Atlanta but still haven't got round to it, must do so this summer
