If Montreal assigns an interview date then is it possible to re-schedule it ?
anyone did this before ?
what are the steps the re-schedule interview , if for some reason one has to ?
responses are appreciated.

Yes, you can reschedule it; however, you get bumped to the back of the line. The wait time at Montreal is 4-6 months so you better be sure that is what you want to do. You can find specific information regarding the Montreal Consulate in the Canada region forum.
I believe all that you have to do is email the Consulate and request a reschedule, and I am sure someone in the Canada forum has that email addy handy.

That is a link for the Vancouver Consulate. I think he was assigned to Montreal. As far as I can find, you cannot change Consulates and are assigned to the one closest to you except in the case of IR1/CR1 interviews, which Vancouver does not do at all.
