How weird, I just called the USCIS to check on any updates and we are still in secruity checks and no approval yet...But the weird thing is that the Officer gave me my husband's A#... IT DOESN"T MAKE ANY SENSE.... For a second there I thought we were approved, my heart started racing, but she said that nothing can be done with the file until the background check is complete and that could take up to a year and to stop calling because I had called too much.

I told her I haven't called since last month, she was kind of mean.... But what can I do.

Has anyone gotten this A# for spouse? I was confused about that one!

My A# was on the very first NOA I received after sending in our I-129F petition. It doesn't have anything to do with an approval.

The A# is the alien number. I believe it is assigned to all intending immigrants.

I don't think I got any A number for my wife's NOA-1. But don't worry about it. Let's hope you get the approval very soon.
