Hi there

I haven't been on the board for a long time now, too busty settling into my new life here, which btw is great.

I was just wondering if anyone can refresh my memory, I came over here on a CR1 visa last July, I have my greencard, social security number etc,
I am planning on visiting my family back in the Uk in May, will there be any problems/issues at immigation when I fly back to into the US, ?
I think I had to wait 6 months before leaving and returning, but I could be wrong, and I think I still head for the foreign line at the airport immigration?, any help greatly appreciated.
Also if anyone here is plannng on resettling in the Norh georgia/Atlanta area and would like some info on what to expect etc, please do get in touch

Thankyou

Sarah

If your trip out of country is less than 1 year, there should be no problems, you just use the green-card to re-enter the USA.

If trip will be longer than a year you will need a re-entry permit (I-131).

If trip will be longer than 2 years, you will need to apply for a re-entry Visa.

Periods out of country longer than 6 months will reset the 3 year residency period required for naturalization.

When you return you can use the US Citizen line with your GC.
