Ok,
I've sent my package back on Feb 20th and they got our package on the 25th. Since then we haven't heard anything. I've made the huge mistake of sending a USPS Money order ( What? What do you mean no tracking? how do i know its cashed) So, Anyway, I've sent hte package and i heard nothing. The thing that worries me is that my card expires at the end of this month. I'm getting a little anxious because not sure what to do at this point. I am going to go to the USPS and fill out the wonderful "tracking" and pay the 5$ to track my money order to see if it was cashed ( This is a joke. how can you NOT tell me its been cashed - last time i use that money order ).
Any other suggestions other then hold tight?1
Well I can talk in terms of myself and others also filing at TSC... if that will be any comfort.
Myself I mailed my package a little after you (My card also expires at the end of the month) and sent a personal check... I got a package receipt confirmation of delivery on March 5th and then the check was deposited on March 11th (coming out of my account on March 13th)
So if you have delivery confirmation then by now your check will have been deposited.
I've not heard anything from USCIS myself either... there was a reference number written on the back of the check but it's not a trackable reference number... so I just have to wait to hear about my biometrics appointment.
USCIS is so slow, and you get such little feedback during the early stages of filing, I really do reccomend using a personal check if that is possible, if only for your own sanity... it lets you know that they have at least opened your package and taken everything out to do something with it... and assigned it some kind of reference... at least then you know it's not sat around in a mail-room somewhere waiting like a time-bomb until your greencard expires... lol
I remember with the I-130 and I-485 it took them an entire month to cash my check... which was VERY painful lol I was sure my L visa was going to expire before they got me my EAD... but things worked out...
This time though at TSC they do seem to be at least taking the money quite quickly... albeit they are then taking forever to do anything else...
If only USCIS pricing was banded like delivery rates are.... with a 'budget' (much cheaper) option granting a guarantee of only a maximum of 18 months, but where you can pay more for express 6 month, or super-duper-fast 3 month processing... at least then people would feel like they got what they paid for lol
