And "once more", some VJ members who continuously harass, bully and offend people roam around like nothing happens, so yes, there is favoritism that is out there for all of us to see.

don't take this the wrong way but you shouldn't complain that nothing is being done then if you are just reporting to Captain ewok... Ewok isn't here a lot of the times and the mods are... and if for whatever reason you don't want to report to Mags, there is LAL and/or William you can report to

i think we dont see the whole picture, we dont know or see how many times someone has been warned and how many chances do they get total before they are banned, fairly sure each time someone complains its judged well wether that requires a warning or not as we all read things differently enough warnings = soon to be gone

While I think personal attacks are wrong, I don't like mods being put in the light of babysitters or moralists. We are all different people with different characters. Further, because we are an International bunch, cultures can collide and often do. What are harsh words for one person may be considered rib-tickling for another. It is hard to judge sometimes.

You obviously fail to understand the way things work here. We Mods are here (voluntarily), to deal with site issues, in a fair and collective manner.



This is the expectation of Captain Ewok and we fulfill that expectation.



In a general sense, we usually receive information about issues and react accordingly. We do not search every thread for problems, as this would be an arduous task. Do you read every single thread on VJ?



Therefore, issues do arise that we do not see and are not formally reported to us.



In conclusion, we do not offer favoritism to any member; as all issues are dealt with equally.



If you choose to circumvent protocol and inform the Captain directly with your issues, be aware that we will all confer on the issue eventually.

Here's my 2 cents...

We all here are capable of and most of us are guilty of taking personal jabs at one another from time to time. That, I don't think is a serious problem. There are, however, a few bad apples on almost every forum (I used to moderate one), who make it a personal vendetta against one or more people they have decided they don't like, for whatever reason, and they'll use every opportunity they can, like replying to a topic with a response that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic, but is nothing more than an insult directed at the person they have targeted. It's not so easy, however, to make a case about a person's ongoing behavior when the method of dealing with it is by reporting specific instances where they clearly crossed the line. It is more obvious though for many who are here regularly as they observe the collection of posts that person makes. For that reason, I think that regular member's opinions should come into account and should be consulted as to what they think about the problem, including suggestions on a solution.

It's no surprise, given that all of us come from so many different walks of life, with different viewpoints and different temperments, that there are some here we gravitate towards and others that we repel from. However, that shouldn't exclude us from extending kindness towards anyone's personal triumphs or show empathy towards anyone's misfortune. Most of us seek out support from one another here through our own personal struggles and can set aside what ever personal feelings we have for each other to offer such support in a time of need...or even just out of good will. If we can't do that for each other then we should ask ourselves what are we doing here in the first place?

No, I think William was continuing the discussion where it was suggested that "let the mods know via PM" was answered by "I constantly do so" when in fact it was later stated the report button was being utilized. No one frowns upon using the report button - its what it's there for .

Someone posted here the other day about their kid being called a name in school. The OP also was asking for advice on how to explain to the kid on how to deal with such matters. We have " ALL" dealt with this sort of thing in our lives and hopefully know how to deal with it.

Were all adults here and if you let a name bother you, its on you, not the poster. Ive seen ppl here calling elected officials,celebrities, just to name a few, all kinds of foul names and I mean FOUL. Thats okay though their not here so that makes it fine, right?

There are little cliques of ppl here that get support from one another to do exactly what they themselves complain about. Of course there are the ones here also that will run a taddle on every little thing said to them just because they have this notion of dislike for the one posting.

Knowing someone on a forum is not the same as knowing them in real life. You only know the person based on what their opinion is or what they write. Judging them on "your percieved interpretation" of the latter is quite foolish and weak at best.

I can only imagine what kind of name calling goes on in the PM's being passed back and forth here. A name being called between two ppl is no different than one being shouted in public. Being a secret name caller is okay?

Eric, issues with other boards should stay there..on other boards. If your sites have been targeted then you should report them to whoever hosts those sites - not bring them up here on VJ. They may be able to trace IPs, if you're lucky.
