Almost 7 weeks from interview until visa in hand --

* 5 weeks 4 days waiting for Israeli police certificate (they didn't tell us we needed it until my husband arrived for his interview)

* Once police certificate received at the consulate, 4 days to process and issue the visa

* 5 days to send it from Jerusalem to Ramallah

Usually, they put male applicants on AP. My wife got her visa right away. She was told by the consular officer that her visa was approved at the end of the interview.

It was 5 wks for us. We just got the visa today smile.gif We had one interview, with no problems.

But at first they put us in AR and told us they had no idea how long it would take. Then my husband asked if he could have his passport back during the wait, in case he needed to travel. Then they replied and said they would expedite our case, and we got it within a week after they said that. Wow! kicking.gif

sad.gif Then he had a home visit 5 months after the interview.
sad.gif Then he had a phone call interview 11 months after the first interview.
sad.gif Then he had the second interview Feb 4th 2008 They said AP was done and he just needed to update his police and medical. That was handed in March 11th 2008
sad.gif Got a e-mail yesterday that said it was in final review.

For us...His interview was March 10, 2008 and he picked up his passport with visa in it from Aramex March 19,2008....so 9 days. I was looking at his passport and it says visa was issued March 17, 2008.

So 7 days....issued and placed in his passport.
and 9 days....He had the actual passport and visa in his hand.

Wow, your AP has taken almost as long as our returned petition did! Don't worry hon, it sounds like it is almost over.
bridget
i'll tell ya when we're done. for now i'm sworn to secrecy due to that evil eye thing.
jade2004
Oh yes...i know all about the evil eye...hubby even kinda believes that is why we got in 2nd round of AP...we were excited and told a few people...and someone had that evil eye on us....

wink.gif

So this time no one will here about getting a call for passport or anything until it is a ''visa in hand''....
elwalk1965
We applied for the k-3 visa. AP for us was 9 months.
jade2004
Well from these posts....I have concluded that K3 visa was not my best choice...hmmm....seems like the k3 peeps have the longer AP/AR times....lol....what a surprise--i need caffeine to get my brain going....
MrsAmera
1 interview, no AP - visa granted next day.

Green card, waited 5 months for an interview, approved same day.
irahaymeh
5 days from interview to visa in hand; No AP. Interview was 4/18/07 - visa delivered by Aramex to the school where he works on 4/25/07.
tammy2688
