We're expecting to arrive before the next school year and want to enrol our daughter into school in GA. The local school is not what we want and we have a chance to transfer using the transfer system. Has anyone any experience of this? Reasons have to be not administrative or academic!!!! Some tips would be greatly appreciated.

Unless a school district in your area has some sort of Schools of Choice program that accepts outside students(which the school districts that people actually want to send their children to don't have), changing school districts without having to pay some sort of tuition is next to impossible. In his case, the only way to get your child to another school is

1) move to another school district

2) pay tuition to a private school

A good school in GA? I dunno where you are but short of moving out of Georgia or private school, I think it may be a toughie! Doesn't GA have the lowest SAT scores of the whole country on average? My co-workers didn't even *consider* sending their kids to public school, only private schools from day 1.

Maybe you could find a charter school or something?
