ok so i went for my interview today for my CR1 visa. all is good, it's approved, pending my medical results which can be released on my 27th birthday so that i don't have to have the HPV vaccine. so, my appointment was at 8am, got there at 7.30 and joined the queue in the cold brrrr but it wasn't long and i got inside soon after having my phone and ipod put in a little plastic bag and put in a locker and going through security. took a seat in the waiting room which soon filled up - seems like 8am is the earliest appointment time, i was lucky. sat and watched the screen - my number was 3rd out of the immigration visas, but there were a LOT more non-immigrant visas. they went through these numbers a lot quicker, but by the time they'd got to non-immigrant visa 30 or so, they called me. went to the desk and the guy fetched my file while i wrote my name on the back of my photo. he came back and just sort of looked through my file at all the documents i'd already provided. then he asked for my husband's 2007 tax returns... which he has only just filed for! so i couldn't have them! anyway it was no problem. didn't ask me anything, took my fingerprints and sent me back to my seat in the waiting room. about 20 minutes later i was called up again to a different window with a different guy, he made me raise my right hand and swear all my info was correct. then he asked where i met my husband, how many times i'd visited him in the states before we'd got married and also where we planned to settle. that was all fine and he took a finger print again (i guess to check i didn't switch out with an imposter while i was gone) and then he noticed i didn't have my medical results. explained why and he gave me my passport back along with my original documents and said i was free to go and that i needed to leave it a couple of days after my birthday, then call the courier on the form he gave me, get them to take my passport to the embassy and the visa will be put in

so all good, can't QUITE woo! just yet because don't have a visa in my hand, but sure it'll all go without a hitch. then i called in on knightsbridge docs again to make sure they'd received a letter saying i'd had my MMR vaccine from my doctors. they didn't seem to keen on my dropping by without an appointment! oops! but they confirmed they'd got it and didn't say anything like oo your results were bad or anything so hoping that that is all good too! could do without the grumpy attitude there tho! ah well.

yay for nearly having a visa
