I just realized that I made the check out to National visa center and it should have been department of state. Do you guys think this will cause a problem?

I think the National Visa Center is part of the Department of State.

Is that a personal check or a cashier's check? Cashier's check should be alright, and I think there's no reason why St. Louis can't cash the check made out to NVC, instead of DOS. Btw, I asked that same question on whom the check should be payable to on this post.

It was a money order. I wrote in the name.
