hey all - we're heading back tomorrow and we're bringing the following:

* GC
* Canadian passport
* marriage cert just in case since my docs have a mixture of maiden and married names

* Clean Tim Horton's travel mug - to be filled at first Tims we see once over the border biggrin.gif

Seriously tho...anything else I need? This is our first time returning, nvr used the AP we got because the GC came so quickly afterward

once you receive your GC (2 years or otherwise), you no longer need EAD or AP. smile.gif

it isn't a temp green card it is just a conditional card .....although I am not sure what the conditions are as you have all the rights a permanent resident has... like traveling without an AP good.gif

Sounds like you're good to go! Enjoy your trip! Don't forget your food list of items you need to bring back. wink.gif

They've been in the US for well over a decade. Just not in many states. Mostly north-eastern.

The condition is that it has to be renewed at 2 years, that's about it. And still able to show that the marriage is/was bonafide.

We are back safe and sound as of last night!

Very smooth crossing back into the US. We handed over only our greencards (which i think they swiped through) and were asked about anything we had purchased. I had receipts ready, but wasn't asked for them. Don indicated that we had some groceries that we couldn't get in the US and some clothes and the guy said 'have a nice day'. 1-2 minutes tops. I had our Canadian passports ready if needed( which of course they weren't since we had the GC's)

It was freaking cold up there....Don is now sick this morning, crappy cold sad.gif

I enjoyed my Tim's on a twice-daily basis at least...won 3 coffees and a $50 giftcard in the 'Rrrroll up the rim' contest ! We tried to redeem it right away, but you had to fill out a form, mail it in etc etc and had to even provide you SSN if you were an American...... so gave it to my brother and I'm sure he'll enjoy multiple visits!

Cheers

Welcome home. Glad to hear that TimmyHo's was benevolent to you with four wins. I am sure you didn't miss the snow and cold, its a good way to be extra grateful when you get home! =)

Some days I would have up to 4 Xl tims and not win a &(*&*& thing,lol
Carlawarla
So glad you had a lovely trip! Your border crossing went well too!
Udella&Wiz
My older brother's sage advice (possibly based on truth) is that Medium cups result in the most wins.

All our wins were from my Med ½ decaf 1 milk 'special me' coffees...lol
flames9
See, I have heard from many that its the XL's that win,lol
Krikit
I'd heard that it was mediums also. But I suspect that was said by the people who'd won after I'd purchased all the non-winning mediums. mad.gif
