Hello,
I am starting to gather everything. I am still debating whether to pay $1000 to use an attorney. Here is what I will have...

1. Car registration in both our names
2. Copy of my Trust which shows that all my assets are in my trust and that the beneficiary of the living trust is my wife. (Our house is in the trust, a property in Texas is in the trust, as well as all my mutual funds at an investment institution.)

3. Life insurance showing her as primary beneficiary.
4. Two retirement accounts showing her as primary beneficiary.
5. Letter stating she and I are both on the same health insurance plan at work.
6. Both names on Gas bill and Cable bill.
7. Have joint accounts for two bank accounts.
8. We are both on the same Credit card.
9. We should have at least 4 letters, notarized affidavits, from friends or family
10. Joint filing tax returns for the past 2 years
11. Membership form showing we have a joint gym membership.
12. Copy of her green card
13. Copy of her Driver's liscense and my license showing same address.

Is there anything else I need? Some said I should send photos. Do you think I need an attorney?

Thanks for your help.

That sounds good - you don't need an attorney to do this application - waste of money if you ask me. Just fill out the forms and you will be ok - put everything in a nice folder the way the tell you to and send off. Also, keep copies of everything you send and highlight both of your names on the documents - remember, make it easy on the reviewer. Don't forget to send your check with the A# on back (I believe) and you'll be all good. good.gif

Thanks. Do you think it's important to include photos?

Also, does one need a post it note or something on each of the documents of evidence to say what it is.... Or at least is it best to highlight or circle the wife's name on the documents? Thanks.

You have lots of good evidence. I would add some photos of you two together with family and friends - over the last two years and maybe sending the bank/credit card/utility bills spanning the last two years e.g. one from 1.5 years back, one form 1 year back and one recent. Good Luck - Don't pay an attorney - have a vacation to Vegas from the money saved laughing.gif

You can always indicate what's what by placing dividers (see the instructions for putting you package together in guides6ly.gif).
A cover letter indicating what's in the package is good, and you'll find examples of such letters in the guides I mentioned.
You seem to have pretty much all you need.
Pictures are, as I understand them, good to have but not primary evidence. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
Peace, L.

Thanks. I can find an example of the cover letter but can't find the guides that describe how to put the package together.

Thanks for everyone who responded to my posting here. It sounds like I may not need an attorney. The i-751 form seems fairly straightforward.

You definately don't need to spend that kind of money on an attorney to do what you can do on your own. I think the I-751 is the easiest out of this entire process to do.

I just sent ours off this past Friday.....

you dont need an attorney. only hire an attorney that does a lot of k1 and k3 visas. use an attorney that specializes in fiancee visas, not a general attorney because they can be ignorant when it comes to the k1 process. you can do it yourself. i used an attorney and i regret it. i got an RFE. i think i could have gotten it approved right away if i had done it myself.
