I really apologize for asking so many questions about these forms, but some of them are really vague.

For the G-235, both my wife and I have to fill out one.

1. For me (the petitioner), do I have to fill in the box in the bottom with the big black border that says "Applicant"? The wording seems to imply it is for the alien relative, so I do not know whether I should fill it out also on my form.

2. The box "This form is submitted in connection with an application for"

Should I check "other" and write in "I-130 petition" here?
Someone told me a while back to check "status as permanent resident", but the example form on this website shows "other" and "I-129 petition", so I got confused.

Thanks,
John

1. Yes, you put your name in the applicant box. Although it seems strange, if you look further up the page, you'll see that the questions are worded as 'Applicant's residence' and 'Applicant's employment', so for the purposes of that form, you are the applicant.

2. Yes, put other, and I-130 petition
