I'm the foreign beneficiary and I'm flying to the US on my K1 in 10 days' time (woo HOO!! kicking.gif ) I have a shipping company coming to collect my stuff in 5 days' time so I'm busy packing up everything here in Europe. I have to provide the shipping company with a simple inventory (not a problem, I'm keeping track of what's going in each box) but I also have to give them an estimated total value for insurance purposes. I am totally HOPELESS when it comes to doing stuff like that! blink.gif I'm guessing I need to write replacement value, but I was wondering what other people had done in this situation and how to "choose a price"? I have several boxes of books (some of which are new, some I've had for years), a boxful of CDs, several boxes of clothes (most of which I've had a while) and some kitchen stuff. If anyone has any good advice on valuing belongings for insurance I would love to hear about it! good.gif

When we shipped our stuff the shipping company said to use the cost of replacing the items in the USA as their value.
