Full Version: what is the DCF (direct filing rule)

Can anyone pls clarrify DCF rule.
I am Dual citizen of usa and india so
1) do i need to fullfill india's residency criteria?
2) What is the staying period now? some are saying 3 months.

DCF stands for Direct Consular Filing. It is available only to USC's living abroad with their spouses --- both the USC and the spouse have to prove legal residence in the consular district they are applying. And I believe the rule is, indeed, 6 months.

You mean OCI? There is no such thing as dual citizen ship in India, if you acquired US citizen ship your Indian citizen ship is automatically cancelled.
