Hi
I am US citizen intend to do court marriage in UK to Indian citizen who is on F1(Student visa) in uk.

1)Can I get married in uk on tourist visa ? Is it legal
2) If not then what steps i need to take
3) Upon searching I find this "You can get married in England and Wales as long as you have both lived in a registration district for at least seven days immediately before giving notice of marriage. "
4) Then i plan on filling K3 for him

When I was there I remember something about petitioning the government for permission. You'll need to contact the Home Office and get a certificate of approval. You must also have at least 3 months on your visa left and have had leave to remain for more then 6 months.

Oops should have read your post more clearly. Thought you were the one in the UK on the visa. OK so you'll need to get a marriage/fiance visitor visa.
