A letter from your employer with your salary/wage, copies of your recent pay stubs. A cover letter though not required will be helpful too.

I did i134 but I also sent a letter from my credit union/bank stating the amt of total deposits, etc that went into my account during the past year....again...i don't think this is required, but....doesn't hurt

Sending bank statements are not needed. They want to see the current income mainly. They don't care how much money one has in the bank accounts. This topic is perhaps better suited for NVC forum.

It is optional to provide bank statements, real estate papers, investment portfolios. Any "assets" that enhance your financial profile.

If someone wants to use the assets, then those should be provided. But if one uses his/her income only, those are not needed and I don't think, those enhance one's financial profile in this case. They primarily focus on the sponsor's current salary/wage. In fact, if one uses I-864EZ (a shorter version of I-864), he/she even should not send those.

If you are using your income only and if you are going to sponsor your spouse only, you should use I-864EZ which is a shorter version of I-864. In that case, you will have less pages to deal with.
