I miss my parents more than 10 years since I married my husband in the US. Now I’m USC, and I would like my parents come to the US to visit us and our kid because I’m so busy with jobs and kid that I don’t have time go back to China. What kind of process I need to do and how long it will take? Thanks a lot.

Have they travelled abroad before?
I believe if they apply for tourist visa, they should be fine. They have to explain finances of who pays and so forth but with you already a USC, it will be a lot easier. I highly doubt that they will be rejected for coming to immigrate especially since you are not in process of sponoring them.

Thanks a lot for the advice. They have not travelled abroad before. Few years back my sister tried to sponsor them but already been rejected because of the finances support. That is why this time I try to invite them for visiting only. May be they will stay a few months or up to a year. I did some search on the internet and found out that I don’t really need a lawyer for this process. These are the process & steps that I got from the internet. Please advise me if anyone find any incorrect on these process. I really appreciate all your help.

Documents from Inviter (from the US):
1. Letter to Visa officer. (I’m wondering what kind of letter)
2. Invitation letter to parents in Chinese and English.
3. Copies of passport, visa, I-94card, driver license, SSN.
4. Affidavit of Support.
5. Bank statement.
6. Statement of employment.
7. W-2 Statement, year 2007.

Documents from Invitees (from China):
1. DS-156, DS-157 form.
2. Certificate of Marriage, Title of real estate, Certificate of retirement, Permanent Residence Booklet, national ID, medical insurance card.
3. Bank statement.
4. Statement of retirement pension and Retirement account booklets.
5. Statement of Relationship.
6. Permanent Residence Booklets of the other daughter in China.
7. Family pictures.

After I downloaded and reviewed the Form-I-134, now I have 2 questions regarding this form.
1. Look like this form is only form single person filing only. If I need my husband to join in finances support, does he need to file a separate of Form-I-134?
2. If I have all the documents (Copies of passport, visa, I-94card, driver license, SSN, Form-I-134 Affidavit of Support, Bank statement, Statement of employment, and W-2 Statement, year 2007.) ready, where I suppose mail these documents to?
