I thought the January folks had a great idea creating a CSC thread. I'm incredibly happy for all of the VSC filers who are getting approvals, but it means that they're going to be looking at comletely different timelines than those of us at CSC are. They'll be going to getting interview dates and stuff while we're starting to receive our NOA2s, so it just makes sense for us to have this thread where we can discuss where we're at and what we're doing.

So...go, go February CSC filers! (Please forgive the random 80's references...I was a kid and watched all those great 80's cartoons.)

When I start quoting Gilligan's Island, watch out. tongue.gif

I got my NOA1 on the 30th of January, so I'm right on the February cusp. I'm glad you started this thread, and hope that all February folks will use it to give their CSC bretheren support. Good luck to all!!!

Cusp people are always interesting...it means you get to hang out with both groups! If it was me, I would choose to hang out with the February people because then, in theory, you are one of the first who gets their approval instead of the last hanger on. Plus...we're cool. wink.gif

Just keep thinking how special that moment of approval will be - not just sweet, but super wonderful willy wonka type sweet. You've done nothing wrong. But please share your story if you think you did, it'll help pass the time tongue.gif

I keep feeling the same way. sad.gif I have to keep reminding myself that it isn't anything that I did. It sucks and it's killing me to wait this long to be with him...everyone keeps telling me "the time will pass" and I know it will...but that doesn't make it any easier.

I saw in your siggy that you're going for a visit. Yay! That's so exciting! Dennis is coming to visit and will arrive on April 4th. I can't wait to see him!

Oh yes its sucks but enough talk about that wink.gif

Yes i gonna to be very busy, this weekend i go to Nice at the Cote D'Azur to celebrate my birthday with my bro and with my best friend. I'll come back on sunday afternoon, will have a busy week at work and will have to prepare my travel to Chicago (you know tongue.gif hair dresser, beauty things to do etc). And saturday the 22th my daugther and I we'll fly to Chicago! I can't wait being with my love. Crosses my fingers to don't have problem at the POE.

We've been a little bit worried about the POE, too...but from everything I've read, as long as you have adequate proof of ties, you'll be allowed in. I understand how you feel, I'm so excited for him to get here! Every time he's here I want to show him around and teach him where stuff is, so that when we're finally approved and he moves here he'll have a better idea of how to get around. He's bringing his car with him, so he'll have transportation and everything right away.
MissYoko
Oh yes my Love use to show me all around home. I love that even if i feel a bit lost. All is so different from France. Like, i don't have a car, i have my drive license since 19 years. But in Paris you don't really need a car. And also my english is not so good.

I will have, my return tickets, a letter from my employer, banks records with found on it, the appointment letter from the court (to have the agreement between my daughter's father and I validate by the judge), my rent bill. I think it will be enough. smile.gif

It should be. smile.gif I also read here on VJ that you should bring a copy of your petition and a copy of the NOA1, just in case they want to see it. Lemme see if I can dig up the post, I think it was in the Canada board.
aravis227
Here are the important snippets:
1) tell the truth, BUT
2) dont blab away!! Answer ONLY thier question, keep your answers short and to the point!! IE: POE asks, business or pleasure?? i would state pleasure and returning on such a date. If they ask friends or family, i would state seeing a friend, if they probe more a girlfriend
3) be polite!! Reply with sir/maam
4)BE confident in ur replies! look them in their eyes when speaking
5) pack light!!!
6) proof of ties to Canada, ie: letter from employer, utility bills, apartment/house lease/deed, return ticket
7) never get upset with the POE guy, your NOT going to win!! Even if u get denied entry, dont be a jerk! Ask what you could do to improve your chances of gaining entry next time
8) dont bring any job resumes with ya
POe officers are trained to look for people lying, keep that in mind!! They only have a short amount of time to make that decision!
9) in case you do get denied entry (and some cdns do, not a big deal, and shouldn't harm ur visa process--that is if u told the truth) have a plan!!

However, regarding the "if they ask friends or family, I would state seeing a friend" someone later posted this:

I agree with the above except for the answer of who you're visiting-answer "husband". Maybe it's a male/female thing or it's just a difference between different officers, but the few times that I said that I was visiting my friend, the follow up question was always Boyfriend? then I got to go chat with immigration for 30-45 minutes. However, I had much less problems when I just said that I was visiting my boyfriend/husband.

They'll probably ask what your immigration intent is-also be honest. you're planning on immigrating but not on this visit and you are beginning the application process in XX weeks.

I am one of those people who researches as much as possible about anything I'm doing. smile.gif I was glad to hear that last bit about "just say boyfriend/husband" because we were inclined to just say "friend", too...but I could see where that would sound like you're lying and trying to hide something once they probe deeper and you admit "well...girlfriend/boyfriend."

There is what i poste on another topic tongue.gif

QUOTE
I will come to visit my fiancé at the end of march, and yes i gonna to say that i'm there to visit my BF.

The reason is, the first time i came to visit him last year in August (it was also my first time in US since 7 years), we was not on the K1 process. And i don't know nothing about K1 or visa stuffs. So It was at Chicago airport.

I was there with my daughter. She was a bit sick on the plane, some fever, and she was asleep in my arms. After a long long time waiting in the long long line, it was finally our turn.
The officer took our passport and asked me the reason we come in US.

I answered very honestly that we're there to visit my fiancé (i used that word cause as we are in love, and that i don't like to say just BF as we are more than that).

The officer started to be suspicious, i was wondering why. He asked me to see return ticket, and as my daughter doesn't have the same last name than me, he asked a lot of question about that. I use to travel with all paper i need, so it was not a problem to give him proof. He even asked me the birth date about my daughter.

It was so stressful as i was wondering why all that questions, and had my sweetie sleeping in my arms, she is 5 and she start to be heavy. Finally he let us go. If he kept us 5 mn more i think i will cry cause i was really don't understand why it was like that.

And i don't know if its related but a guy from the airport (i don't paid really attention about his uniform) was just beside my luggage and helped me to put it on the trolley.

Second time in December, i told the officer that i was there for vacation and visit my BF, he asked me when i was there before, i answered this summer, how many times you stayed, about 10 days. And that's all.
Nobody to help me for luggage this time and it was more big and heavy cause the winter time.

On behalf of all Chicagoans, I am happy to welcome you to our fair city!! From everything I've read, Chicago is a great POE. Which is what I'd expect, from the friendliest big city in the world. You will have a wonderful time, and things should be cleaned up from St. Patricks Day (although the river might still be a little green). Are you planning anything special during your visit?
monty001
Good idea for a separate thread for CSC filers. Atleast we can keep track of how they handle our petitions. I myself am hoping that we get approved around October/November. Hopefully it'll happen!!

I hope that it will be sooner than that. Staying positive while your life is in the hands of the US government buracracy can be difficult at times, but you sound very positive which will help you through this process. Good Luck.

That's so great! Richard must be very happy that his children have been so accepting. That is always a stressful thought in most parent's minds. I'm already planning on what fun Chicago things Olga and her son will do with me when they get here. My sons are teens (and yes they play WOW too) and they are also excited to have Olga's son to show the intricacies of American sports like football and baseball. Just remember - never put katsup on a hot dog in Chicago - never! If you remember this you will do fine. Also don't worry about your english skills - just play up the french accent, bat your eyelashes a few times, and the city will be yours tongue.gif

WoW is how Dennis and I met! Crazy how the world works these days. smile.gif

I also hope that we get NOA2s before November. I hate to get my hopes up too high...but if CSC is approving October that means we might start hearing back from them in June...and that's if they don't speed up. Hopefully now that most of the July debacle is over with we'll see those approvals coming faster!

That's amazing! I play WoW as well and have met some fun "fictional" people there - but the world is crazy, and reality out of fantasy is a neat twist. I guess the question for you is Horde or Alliance? And what were your characters? This may tell you a lot about Dennis. tongue.gif

Lol i think i was more stressed than Richard when i met the kids smile.gif. I was so afraid, but it was silly as they're really great! I don't play Wow. Richard, yes. We met online on Second Life smile.gif I'm pretty sure you know it. Its the new kind of life. Internet and all online stuffs help soul mates to finally meet. Its wonderful!

I agree that soulmates will use whatever is available to meet. Second life is very interesting. I play Wow with my kids if I'm traveling or out of the country. Of course I maintain a higher level - can't have the kids beat'n up on their old man. laughing.gif

Ahhh...the ever important question wink.gif It's almost weird, we both play alliance, we both got pushed into the game by friends/family, and we started our accounts three days apart. Talk about fate. blink.gif My main is a human warlock, his main is a night elf druid. We still play (that's how I've gotten to know his sister, her husband, and quite a few of their friends). Thank you for starting this Feb CSC filers thread. I don't begrudge the VSC filers, but lets be realistic. Their SO's will be here probably before we even get our NOA2's. This way we should be able to tell when our approvals should be coming.

What realm do you guys play on? We're on Terenas. Both of our mains are level 70 (his just got there a few weeks ago...I have been since about a month after the level raise...I used to play a LOT more than I do now).

All my guys are on Hoarmrush (or something like that) I've got a 70 NE warrior, a 60 NE druid, a 39 gnome warlock, a 24 NE hunter, a 22 human rogue, and a lvl 2 gnome to handle my bank - cute little guy, runs around naked most of the time dancing.

Its amazing how many "male" characters are really females and how many guys run around with "female" characters - strange world this one. It's a lot of fun, though. Especially my new guild "Gods of Guiness" very appropriate for the time of year.

I always think that, too. The most common logic I hear about it is "I'm going to be looking at their backside for a long time...it better be nice to look at." I personally think that Draenai females and human males have the best backsides in the entire game.

Ok...so I have a (possibly dumb) question to ask. When you look at your timeline and it gives you an estimated adjudication date. Is that the date that they predict USCIS will make a decision or is it the date that they predict the embassy/consulate makes a decision and the visa is actually approved?
Jon-n-Michelle
Well it seems that CSC is starting to pick up the pace a little. I've noticed the approvals coming down from the 160+ days to the high 140's. The latest have been right at 135 days, and they are also starting to adjudicate early november cases. Thats a good sign for us! dancin5hr.gif We could possibly be looking at June approvals or possibly slighly earlier if the trend keeps going this way. I won't comment on the VSC filers who got their NOA2's even though they filed AFTER me ranting33va.gif
Don E

That's the date the petition might be approved....the NOA2 date. Depending on the embassy, the actual interview may be several months (varies alot depending on the embassy and many other factors) after the NOA2. But, if you look at the timelines of others who have gone through your embassy, you should get a good idea of the average time between the NOA2 and the interview. Also, take a look at the K-1 flowchart under the "guides" tab.

I've looked at all that...a lot...repeatedly...and it's depressing as hell. tongue.gif That's why I had a little fantasy in the back of my head that when it predicted your adjudication date it actually meant the visa interview and the decision made then. Trust me...I've neurotically checked the average times for every step involved. If we're really lucky we'll get a CSC approval in 4 months...then our Consulate usually takes 2-3 months get an interview. So my predicted August adjudication date was not completely unrealistic to think it might be the consulate decision date.

Happy Wednesday everyone! How are you all doing? Any touches? I was so happy to see all of those December CSC approvals yesterday! Woo-hoo!
aravis227
Ohhh...I am SOOOO happy to see all of these November and December CSC approvals! Next thing you know we'll see January approvals, then it'll be us!

I know a couple of other people have visits coming up. Do you have any special plans during your visit besides just enjoying being together? We're going to be spending time with friends and family so that once Dennis moves here, he already knows people and doesn't feel quite so much like the "new guy".
Jon-n-Michelle
Aravis, I'll be watching for your NOA2 VERY close!!!! We got our NOA1 on the same day. I hope that the recent December approvals are a good sign. I told my fiance that she may be getting here sooner than expected. She was excited to say the least. This being apart REALLY SUCKS!!!

It does really suck. Sit tight, there is hope. I was and still kind of am in the same boat with you guys. We are all in the same boat.

In a lot of ways we're all in the same boat, up until the time we mail our petitions in - then we kinda seperate for a bit as the adjudication process goes on, longer for some , shorter for others. We all happily climb back in the "boat" once we have brought our sweethearts here to be married - remember, getting them here is just one phase of the whole visa process - AOS, Work authorization, biometrics, removal of conditions.... these are all terms we will become very familiar with by this time next year. At that point it will not matter who was VSC or CSC, cause we'll all be back in that same boat again. Like the website says, this is a journey whose final destination may not be reached for 5 years.

My first 30 days were difficult because the VSC processing was so much faster - but I got through that period (...accept what I cannot change...) without going completely bonkers. Remember, not one of us would turn down an approval becuase we thought it unfair that someone who filed before us was still waiting. To the fast approvals for the VSC filers I congratulate you on your good fortune and hope that you will find patience should roadblocks come into your path later on, to CSC filers I say you are all amazing - you are proving your love and committment every day you have to wait. To all of us I say I can't wait until we can all meet up again in that one "boat"

I know it means very little, but I'll take what I can get: "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as July 31, 2008*. " I loved seeing "July" instead of "August". Just a little ray of sunshine on my morning. goofy.gif

I agree. When I first mailed in the I-129f I was given a date of August 8, which then quickly moved up to August 12, then August 14. But the hump of July 07 is over and the times are coming down. I'm now sitting at July 16 and am hoping that it moves down into June. We need to get some big approval weeks here - and soon.

I'm just curious...has anyone gotten a touch? I haven't had a single one, my last update is the NOA1 date. Am I the only one?

I understand...that's pretty much how I feel, too. With so many people at VSC who have filed after me...I just would like to at least know they have it and are doing something with it.

Well for CSC, you just need to reset your expectations, and I know that is hard. Your file is sitting snuggly in a box right now, and will until that box is pulled from the racks. You should not receive a touch (if you receive one at all) until you are getting close to being adjudicated. You'll know this is the right time because other CSC filers in your general filing time frame will begin to get approvals, and perhaps touches. Comparing the CSC path with the VSC path is an exercise in frustration - I know, I've been there. Just hang tight, get engaged in the community here, and keep your spirits up. Good Luck to you! good.gif

I know all of that...it doesn't help. At all.

...I'm sorry...I'm a horrible, grumpy person today and it's one of those days where I question whether this is all worth it. I could easier bring him here illegally and pay a lawyer to make it legal. Then he would be here now. Patience has never been my virtue.

Hey everyone. I was reading the original "Feb. 2008 Filers" thread and man....those Vermont guys are getting approvals left and right. Anyway... I've read all the stories so I'm prepared for the wait.

All I can say is patience is definitely the only answer. Obviously all this has been said before, but oh well!!! No touches here either by the way.

Good Luck! good.gif
