guess most of us see the finish line by now, or is someone still waiting to hear from California?

Dunno about wanting to hear from California, but I'm certainly waiting to hear from cwaf! laughing.gif I think we need to keep this baby open until we all have visas in hand. yes.gif

Hey Damian! nothing new here YET! As of Friday, the Embassy said our packet was not there even though I tracked it through DHL. They are on national holiday today, so we will try again tomorrow. Interestingly, though, I had sent a letter to my congressman and I received a followup letter from them on Saturday. Their answer was:
"Dear Cwaf (or similar yes.gif ),
Thank you for contacting me with the problem you are having receiving an informative response to your repeated inquiries to the NVC. I appreciate this opportunity to assist you.
I have reviewed this matter and have contacted the appropriate agency on your behalf. My staff and I will continue to work with the US Embassy in Ukraine until its review is complete. Upon receipt of a response, I will be in contact with you again. if you have any questions.........call....." and then signed by Dan Burton
then, handwritten below that was "I have sent communication to the Embassy in Kiev to make sure they have the case and will schedule the final interview. I will be in touch", and signed by KLB, "special assistant".....
So, maybe good things will happen for us, or maybe they will make someone angry and I get showed to the bottom of the pile! hahaha

Holiday here too, cwaf. Oh well, I still reckon you'll get your interview date before me. I have to wait for my long form birth certficate and police certificate before I can do any more. Should be here this week though!

What holiday is it for you? In Ukraine, it is their Independence Day (itwas yesterday, so celebrated on Monday, as well)

Dunno mate - all I know is that there's a public holiday at the end of August. I enjoy it and don't ask questions!! laughing.gif

Just wanted to pop on and give an update.... Mark has gone to get some of the vaccinations required, luckily his local doctor was able to do several of them saving us 130 BP. I got the NOA2 and he received the packet saying what all he needed to do. He will be going for his medical next week in London and hopefully soon after we will have an interview date.

How's everyone doing on this lovely Wednesday? I'm very anxious and excited! Three weeks from today, as long as all goes well, Dennis and I will be at the Vancouver consulate, picking up his visa. smile.gif

I hope it all goes well for you two!

We still have not been able to contact the Embassy to schedule the interview. My fiance` is traveling today, so she will have to call tomorrow. I have tried the last 2 days since there is a toll free number for people in the USA to use, but even though I choose the menu for ENGLISH, it reverts back to Ukrainian--which I do not understand! ranting33va.gif So, it appears we wait another day....each day delay is like a drop in a bucket, but those drops add up and push things farther and farther back. wacko.gif some day...some day... maybe someone knows my house is not yet clean enough for her to come over! hahahaha

hey guys!!!

How are you doing all?

I just received packet3 today.

So now i got an important question. For minor child, they asked to have a notarized letter from the other parent and a notarized photocopy of his passeport.
So, i got a court judgement who say that my daughter father agree that she will immigrate to the US with me. Do you thing that i still have to get from him a notarized letter?

Thanks for your advices

Congrats on packet 3! smile.gif I would ask around your regional board about that...each embassy/consulate is a little bit different. You could even email/call the consulate and ask them if it's acceptable. If you don't find a specific answer, I would just get one to be on the safe side.

Terrible thing is I get my mail at a po box and I do not check it often. The notice could have been sitting there a few days already.

Lol, I'm sorry i got a lot of things to do. I had to fix all for my big one who will stay in France. So, almost all is done for her now.
And i needed to forget a bit the process after the huge stress i had.

BTW, about the required document for K2, I send at 1 am an email to the embassy to ask them if the court order will be enough. And you know what?! They just called me back at 10 am. OMG so fast! biggrin.gif

So yes the court order will be enough cause, the court order says that we will immigrate to the United States. If the court order doesn't mentioned the immigration it will be not enough.

Thanks god, i asked the court to mention it!!!!

(but i asked the father to go to a notary office to get a notarized letter, just in case of)

It start to be really close now!!! I'm so happy!

Hugs and kisses to you all
Alex & Rachel
Hurrah! biggrin.gif You'll soon have your interview date. good.gif

I've missed seeing you around! sad.gif

That was nice of the embassy to respond so quickly. It's sad that in this process we're so surprised when we actually receive a prompt response from anyone - it should really always be that way.

Congratulations to all those moving forwards!

I think me and cwaf are living parallel lives: I'm sure the London Embassy has my case cos the DHL thing said it was delivered last wednesday, but I call them everyday and they deny it. It'll be 6 weeks on friday since I was NOA2 approved.
Scarlett
Here's a quick question. Do we have to use our K1 visas with a specific time? I thought I remembered a limit of 4 months? Or can we travel in whenever we like?

Scarlett, I was reading an article that Kim provided a link to (on the April filers thread) which explains the security checks our petitions go through. Apparently, USCIS, NVC, and the consulate all perform security checks, and by all accounts, the most frequent cause of delays is the fact that the beneficiary's name causes a "red flag" to be raised by the various databases. This usually happens when an applicant has a very common surname, that is to say a name that appears in the database a lot (or a name that sounds similar), and a "false hit" (someone that shares your name or a similar name has a criminal record, for instance) results in delays. This could explain why it only took my petition under a week to get from NVC to the consulate, because I have an unusual surname (suffice to say I'm probably the only one with that name in the database and I have no criminal record whatsoever).

Do you have fairly common surname, Scarlett?

HUGS Scarlett! I think they have it in for us!
My fiance` called the Embassy in Kiev again today, and though we know the package arrived to them Monday of last week (18th), they say it is not in the system. They said it is probably at the Consulate and they have not gotten it to the Embassy. The she had the audacity to say that it "could take 10 weeks to get to the Embassy"!!!!!!!! The buildings are next to each other in the same compound--possibly even connected! I could fly over and walk it to the Embassy if that is what it takes to get it there!

Not really...each embassy works a little bit differently. For Vancouver we didn't do anything until Dennis received packet 3 from the embassy, then we faxed it back. I know Manila is a little bit different...I think you have to call them once they receive your petition. Start checking with NVC in a couple of days to find out if they've received and sent your petition. Once they've sent it you can track it on DHL (they can not give you the tracking information...they'll just tell you they send it standard post, which isn't true....someone on VJ figured out what their codes are) and once it reaches Manila you guys can call them and set an appointment. smile.gif If I've got anything wrong in there, I'm sure someone else who is going through that embassy will correct me. smile.gif

I agree! I think they are making up stuff on the fly just because they are incompetent. GGGGRRRRRR

Daimian...yeah..the steam is definitely coming out my ears now! hahahah ranting33va.gif crying.gif wacko.gif

Just wanted to update, Michelle had her medical this week and passed. She was extremely nervous, but ended up meeting 3 girls from VJ while she was there. They went through the process together. Next friday I am flying out to go to the interview with her. Wish us luck smile.gif

What are you supposed to ask when you call the NVC? smile.gif

Hurrah! biggrin.gif You'll soon have your interview date. good.gif

I've missed seeing you around! sad.gif

That was nice of the embassy to respond so quickly. It's sad that in this process we're so surprised when we actually receive a prompt response from anyone - it should really always be that way.

Hello Rachel. I missed you too!

I'm sorry about that. But, not being there don't mean that I forget you. You're still all in my thoughts.

Oh god things are moving now. This weekend I go to Brussel to visit my parents. And in 2 weeks I'll left my work.

Make sure you get through and talk to a real person, I just said "I was hoping to find out if my petition has arrived and when it will be sent out." They'll ask for your CSC case number and if they start asking you for dates of birth, etc then they've received it! Otherwise they'll tell you no. Most of them were nice to me, some were a little bit snippy. smile.gif

Medical complete, police certificate waiting for me when I got back. Just the interview now. cool.gif

Ray,
Did you get your MNL#? If so have your girl pay the document verification as soon as possible. You don't want to get stuck in in AR after she goes through her interview. You'll find that things move really fast now.

Yeah NVC gave me a MNL# when I called. Can I ask how document verification works? I know you pay at Metrobank and then you text Delbros. My question is do you have to send your docs to Delbros to be verified?

Mark has his medical on Tuesday, all the rest of the paperwork, birth certificates, police checks, and everything else is ready; as soon as his medical is finished, he will be able to send off the paperwork and then hopefully get an interview soon.

No, the embassy just sends an inquiry to NSO, to see if her NSO docs (CENOMAR, B.C. and any annullments) are in fact real. Make sure you follow-up with Delbros. They like to sit and do nothing. They've caused a lot of couples to be put in AR (white slip) at interview, because they didn't deliver the request from the embassy.
